    • Partner (subclass 309/100 and 820/801)
    • Prospective Marriage (subclass 300)

    Introduction of international credit card facility:

    Australia Visa Applicants and representatives will now have the option and convenience of lodging online visa applications by using the international credit card facility offered by VFS Global.

    This service will be available for an additional charge of INR 495 per application and will come into effect from Friday, 27 October 2017.

    Change in Visa Application Charges (Visa Fee) effective 1 July 2017

    Australia Visa Applicants may please note that the Department of Immigration and Border Protection reviews its Visa Application Charges (VAC) twice in a year and the changes are released on 1 January and 1 July respectively.

    The new prices will be released on 1 July 2017. However, as prices may change, it is recommended that you make arrangements accordingly to verify the applicable Visa Application Charge before lodging an application on or after 1 July 2017.

    New prices will be available on the Department’s website on 1 July 2017. If you are lodging an application before 1 July 2017, the current prices will apply. From 1 July 2017, the new prices will apply.

    Note: Australian Visa Application Centers and the Australian High Commission in New Delhi can only accept the correct and exact application fee.

    Fee Change Scenarios:

    Reduction in Visa Fee: VFS Global cannot accept demand drafts for an amount that is higher than the current Visa Application Charge; in such cases, please obtain a new demand draft.

    Increase in Visa Fee: If you have prepared drafts at the old lower Visa Application Charge, VFS Global will be able to accept an additional demand draft for the difference in the fee.

    Note: We cannot accept a payment in cash for the difference.

    Effective Thursday, 01 June 2017, Australia Visa Application Centre has introduced a new fee payment method of “Debit & Credit card Payments” for the collection of Visa Fees, VFS Global service charge and Value Added Services.

    *All payments made via the credit or debit card at the Visa Application center will be settled in INR. We accept all Visa, Master and Maestro cards.

     A one month window is being offered to make necessary administrative arrangements as effective 01 July 2017, it will be a mandatory requirement for all travel agents to pay by Debit & Credit cards only.

    Fee for Migration Category may be paid via demand draft if required.

    Prime Time (Weekdays)

    Australia visa applicants in India may please note that effective Wednesday, 1 March 2017, Prime Time appointment service will be available from Monday to Friday at all Visa Application Centres across India except Kolkata. This service allows applicants, who pay an additional fee to lodge their applications beyond the normal processing hours (Monday to Friday 09:00 to 16:00).     Global visa and citizenship processing times

    The Department of Immigration and Border Protection (the Department) is continually looking to improve client information and processing arrangements. 

    From 13 March 2017, you will be able to view current global visa and citizenship processing times for most visa subclasses and citizenship types by navigating to any product within Individuals and Travellers or Visa Support. On the product page, two processing times will be displayed, indicating how long it takes to finalise 75 and 90 per cent of all applications submitted globally.

    Processing times apply from the date your complete application is received by the DIBP processing office

    The Government of India has withdrawn with immediate effect (midnight of November 8, 2016) the legal tender character of the existing and any older series banknotes in the denominations of Rs 500 and Rs 1000.

    VFS will accept Visa fees and VFS logistic charges in all denominations of all notes other than the existing & old high denomination notes of Rs. 500 and Rs.1000 . VFS shall also accept demand drafts favoring VFS Global Services Private limited.

    From 05 December 2016 clients in Indian can avail a new premium service for priority processing of Subclass 600 Visitor visas (Business or Tourist Stream)

    From 05 December 2016 clients in Indian can avail a new premium service for priority processing of Subclass 600 Visitor visas (Business or Tourist Stream), subject to eligibility criteria and paying an additional fee of AUD 1000 (INR 53100).

    The majority of Priority Service applications will be finalised within 48 hours of being received by the Australian High Commission. All applicants must meet the legal requirements set out in migration legislation for the grant of a visitor visa, including the requirement that applicants undertake and meet relevant health, character and security checks. Applicants should note that there is no guarantee that the visa application will be finalised within 48 hours, and that the priority service fee is not refundable in the event of a delay – whatever the reason – or if the visa application is refused.

    From 19 November 2016, changes to the temporary activity visa framework are coming into effect.

    Under the new temporary visa framework there would be four temporary activity visa subclasses:

    • Temporary Work (Short Stay Specialist) (subclass 400) visa;
    • Temporary Work (International Relations) (subclass 403) visa;
    • Training (subclass 407) visa; and
    • Temporary Activity (subclass 408) visa.

    The subclass 400, 407 and 408 visas can only be lodged online. Paper applications lodged from this date for these visa subclasses will be considered invalid and returned to the applicant together with payment of the visa application charge; Paper applications for the subclass 401 and subclass 402 visas will also be considered invalid; and Only the subclass 403 visa can be lodged both online and by paper.

    HOAX ALERT: Visa Free visit to Australia from January 2017

    The Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) is aware of a hoax news/blog site suggesting new visa-free arrangements are coming into effect for individuals intending to travel to Australia. The hoax stories, which have so far named Fiji, the Philippines, Oman and Pakistan, suggest that Australia has entered into visa agreements with visa-free travel commencing from January 2017. These stories are false and Australia maintains a universal non-discriminatory visa regime. There has been no change to Australia’s approach. All non-citizens seeking to enter and stay in Australia require a valid visa.

    Travellers should continue to check the Department’s website, www.border.gov.au, for the latest information on visa requirements for Australia. Any changes to visa conditions or processes are publicised on the Department’s website. The Department is reminding travellers who are intending to visit Australia, that there are important things they should know. This includes what visas to apply for, requirements for the visa application, obligations while in Australia and information about complying with the conditions of your visa.

    Online lodgement of student visa applications

    Effective 1 July 2016, all student visa applications are required to be lodged online. VFS Global can assist applicants by completing the data entry of an application and upload the supporting documents Online on their behalf under VFS’s Online IMMI Account by charging the approved rates.

    The service will be available with prior appointment through the call centre. Applicants are required to bring in their Credit Card as payment for Visa can only be made Online in AUD (Australian Dollar) and under phase 1, VFS will not be able to offer the payment through its own cards.

    Applicants are encouraged to bring along all the information and supporting documents at the time of their appointment to avoid any delays.

    Student Visa Programme Changes

    From 1 July 2016, all student visa applications must be lodged online through ImmiAccount.

    Paper student visa applications lodged on or after 1 July 2016, including applications that were mailed to the Post prior to 1 July and received at the Post on or after 1 July, will be considered invalid and returned to the applicant together with payment of the student visa application charge.

    The Visa Application Centres in North India (Delhi, Jalandhar and Chandigarh) will open at 8:00 instead of 9:00 for Public dealing on Monday, 28 March 2016.

    The Visa Application Centres in Kolkata, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Cochin will open at 8:00 instead of 9:00 for Public dealing on Tuesday, 29 March 2016.
