    Important note: With the exception for Saint-Martin et Saint-Barthélemy, UAE passport holders do not require a short stay visa for the below French overseas departments and territories:

    Guadeloupe, Guyane, Martinique, La Réunion, Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, Mayotte, Wallis et Futuna , Polynésie française et Nouvelle-Calédonie.

    Important note: Effective 11 June 2017, citizens of Ukraine can travel to Schengen countries without a prior visa for a period of up to 90 days. Please note that this exemption is only for holders of a Ukraine biometric passport.

    This does not apply to Ukrainian Nationals who are not holders of biometric passports and travelling for work during the stay period of 90 days.

    The France visa application centre in Abu Dhabi will remain closed on Thursday, 01 December 2016 for UAE National Day/Commemoration Day. The next working day will be Sunday, 04 December 2016.

    All passports will be under custody of the Embassy

    • All passports will be under custody of the Embassy of France in Abu Dhabi during the process of Schengen visa application which can take up to 15 days. The French Embassy in Abu Dhabi will not consider any withdrawal request.
    • An application without the complete set of documents according to the above mentioned checklist may result in a rejection of my visa application
    • The Embassy of France in Abu Dhabi reserves the right to ask for additional supporting documents if necessary and does not guarantee the issue of the visa. In case of a refusal, visa fees are not refundable

    Paris Attacks – travellers’ information

    Visa applications will continue to be received in VFS Abu Dhabi and Dubai with no change.

    Border controls : French Authorities have decided to institute systematic controls at all French entry points immediately. The borders are not closed but controls will be carried out at all international road, rail, air and sea border crossing points.
    Airports remain open, Air and rail services continue to operate.

    Foreign nationals who are requested a visa must provide valid visa and documents about their stay in France.

    Visa Application Centre Role

    All applications collected by the Visa Application Center will be sent to the Visa Section at the Embassy of France in Abu Dhabi for assessment and resolution. Visa Application Centre staff has no say in the visa decision taken by the Embassy and has no influence on the application processing time whatsoever.
