Identity Card Renewal - minor
If your child is a Dutch national younger than 12 years old and its identity card needs to be renewed, you can apply for a Dutch identity card on their behalf together with the child. Both parents of children who are younger than 12 years old need to give their consent to apply for a Dutch identity card.
Children who are 12 years old or older do not need the permission of their parents and can apply for a Dutch identity card themselves. In this case the parents do not need to be present during the identity card application.

There is a service charge of £24.00 (inclusive of VAT) for children of 12 years old or older per application in addition to the renewal fees payable by all applicants.
The service charge for children younger than 12 years old is £ 25,50 per application (inclusive VAT) in addition to the renewal fees payable by all applicants.

- The Special Delivery facility for the return of identity cards is available at a fee of £14.95 (Inclusive of VAT) per application. This is an optional service. Royal Mail envelopes will not be accepted.
