Applicable visa fee, in Pound Sterling (£), is as per the current exchange rate and may be subject to change without notice.

VFS service fee (inclusive of VAT) is charged per visa application, in addition to the applicable visa fee.

All fees can be paid by cash (except in Manchester and Edinburgh), Credit/Debit card or Postal Orders in the name of “Netherlands Visa Application Centre”.

Cheque payments and direct bank transfers are not accepted.

All fees are non-refundable.

Documents Required

CHECK-LIST SHORT STAY – ORANGE CARPET

  1. Signed passport, with at least 2 blank pages, valid for at least 90 days beyond the return date of the trip to the Schengen Area and not issued more than 10 years ago as of the date of return from your scheduled trip. The same applies to passports issued more than 10 years ago that have since been extended.
  2. Completed and signed visa application form (two signatures and signature same as in passport)
  3. One photograph (meeting all photo requirements)
  4. UK residence permit (original + photocopy) valid for at least 90 days beyond the return date of the trip to the Schengen Area.
  5. Letter from the company, signed by a designated signatory (the names of all immediate family members must also be mentioned in the letter). Orange Carpet client must mention the registration code clearly on either the company letter or on the application form

Please note: In order to use the OCVF in London, the company must be registered in the UK and with the Netherlands Embassy. If your company is registered in another country for the OCVF, you cannot use the OCVF services in London.

Photo Specifications

Please provide one recent photographs (not more than 6 months old) of yourself. The photographs should be in colour and: 

  • Taken against a light background (white or off-white) so that features are distinguishable and contrast against the background.
  • Clear share quality and with the face in focus.
  • Printed on normal photographic paper (camera print).
  • Full face, non-smiling [without sunglasses, a hat/cap or other head covering, unless the applicant wears such items because of their religious belief or ethnic background].

Note: Please follow these instructions carefully. If photographs presented do not meet these requirements your application will be considered incomplete. Photo booth meeting these requirements is available at the centre.

Processing Time

Orange Carpet (OC)visa applications accepted at the Netherlands Visa Application Centre in London arrive the next working day in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague, the Netherlands for a decision.

The minimum OC visa application processing time is 3-5 working days, provided that a complete visa application is submitted.

Applying in Manchester

OC visa applications accepted at the Netherlands Visa Application Centre in Manchester are sent to the Netherlands Visa Application Centre in London, where they arrive the next working day. From there, the OC visa applications are sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague, the Netherlands - where they arrive the next working day - for a decision.

Once the decision has been made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague, the Netherlands, the passports return to the applicants via the same route and in the same time, i.e. once the passports are returned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague, the Netherlands, they reach the Netherlands Visa Application Centre in London the next working day. From there, the passports are returned to the applicants by courier. Therefore applicants should add minimum 2 extra days to the minimum OC visa processing time, when applying in Manchester.

Applying in Edinburgh

OC visa applications accepted at the Netherlands Visa Application Centre in Edinburgh are sent to the Netherlands Visa Application Centre in London, where they arrive 2 working days later. From there, the OC visa applications are sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague, the Netherlands - where they arrive the next working day - for a decision.

Once the decision has been made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague, the Netherlands, the passports return to the applicants via the same route and in the same time, i.e. once the passports are returned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague, the Netherlands, they reach the Netherlands Visa Application Centre in London the next working day. From there, the passports are returned to the applicants by courier. Therefore applicants should add minimum 4 extra days to the minimum OC visa processing time, when applying in Edinburgh.

Please check Public Holidays/closures to ascertain the dates that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague, the Netherlands, the Dutch Embassy in London and the Netherlands Visa Application Centres will be closed, as this will also affect the processing time of the visa application.

All visa decisions are solely at the discretion of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague, the Netherlands.
