Applying for a Dutch passport or ID card in London and Edinburgh
The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs enables Dutch citizens to apply for a Dutch passport or ID card through the VFS Global Offices in London and Edinburgh, on weekdays during regular office hours. At the VFS Global Office in London you can also apply on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings.
VFS accepts both applications for renewals, as well as first applications for a Dutch passport or ID card. If you are no longer in possession of your passport or ID card, you can only apply at VFS if you have a copy of the missing document. Applicants who are not in possession of a copy of their missing document, applicants requiring an emergency travel document (laissez-passer or emergency passport) or applicants requesting an urgent procedure, can contact the Netherlands embassy in London. VFS Global cannot process such applications.
All applications will be forwarded to the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs for assessment. VFS charges a standard service fee and a prime time fee for applications at the London office on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings.
