You will need to complete the Application for Schengen Visa Form. A link to the form is located under the “Visa Application Form” tab above.
To enter Spain, U.S.A passport holders need a valid passport and a visa.
THE CONSULATE GENERAL OF SPAIN VISA REQUIREMENTS
Kindly submit your supporting documents, without staples in the documents, in the following order:

NOTE: When travelling with a family, please submit copy of flight reservation and insurance with each application, remaining documents may be submitted with the main application.
U.S.A citizens DO NOT require a visa to enter the Schengen territory, i.e. Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvian Republic, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland
REQUIREMENTS:
Before applying please make sure you fulfil all the following requirements.

FULLY COMPLETED AND SIGNED SCHENGEN VISA APPLICATION FORM
In the case of minors, parents or legal guardian must sign.

Two recent passport sized photographs in colour. |
| 3. |
PASSPORT (and copy of the information page) valid for at least 3 months after the expiry date of the requested visa. Please ensure that the passport has 2 blank pages to affix the visa. Submit the passport without any cover. |

A VALID RETURN TICKET and itinerary of the trip with dates, specifying entry and exit from Schengen states. |
| 5. |
MEDICAL TRAVEL INSURANCE specifying name of beneficiary, validity, amount covered (min. 30.000 €) and schedule of benefits. Insurance policy must cover ¨ASSISTANCE¨ in the Schengen Area Policies with reimbursements or co-payments will not be accepted. You can buy travel insurance from your travel agency or through the internet. ¨. Please check that the name on the insurance and the name in the passport is the same. |

FINANCIAL MEANS. A three month bank statement is always required. Foreign exchange receipts, traveller’s checks, certified checks, credit cards (accompanied by previous three months bank statement, stating the amount available) or bank letters are also welcome. If supported by parents then a notarized LETTER SIGNED BY PARENTS/GUARDIAN confirming that and the parents´ 3 month bank statements. |

ACCOMMODATION. Detailed hotel reservation (name, complete address, phones and email) or a Letter of Invitation issued by the Spanish Local Police Department from a family member or friend who resides in Spain (original and copy). If you are part of a tour or cruise, please include a letter from your travel agent stating a complete itinerary of cities and hotels. |

FOR A BUSINESS/PROFESSIONAL TRIP, you must submit: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 (see above)
AND SIGNED LETTER OF INVITATION FROM A COMPANY IN SPAIN, on a letterhead, stating the purpose and dates of the visit. If proof of accommodation is included in it, no booking will be required.
ORIGINAL LETTER OF EMPLOYMENT FROM YOUR COMPANY IN SA stating the nature and dates of the visit. Even if the company is paying for the expenses, personal financial means of the applicant and proof of travel insurance are needed.
If you are self-employed please submit official documents confirming your business (commercial licence and latest VAT Certificate)

STUDENTS, you must also submit:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 (see above) AND RECENT LETTER FROM YOUR SCHOOL OR UNIVERSITY confirming attendance (a letter of enrolment is not acceptable).
If supported by parents then a notarized LETTER SIGNED BY PARENTS/GUARDIAN confirming that and the parents´ 3 month bank statements.
OTHER NATIONALl STUDENTS, you must also submit:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 (see above) AND RECENT LETTER FROM YOUR SCHOOL OR UNIVERSITY confirming attendance (a letter of enrolment is not acceptable).
Three MONTHS’ BANK STATEMENTS, up to the date of submission No visas will be issued if the SA student permit is about to expire. Its renewal before submitting the application is required. |

NON U.S.A NATIONALS, you must also submit:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9 (see above) AND
Proof of PERMANENT RESIDENCY. RECENT LETTER OF EMPLOYMENT, with details of occupation, wage and leave approval.
Three MONTHS’ BANK STATEMENTS, up to the date of submission. Commercial license in case of business owners. |

MINORS: you must also submit:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9 (see above) AND A child under 18 years travelling alone or with only one parent must submit certified written consent of both/either parent or guardian signed in front of a Commissioner of Oaths together with a copy of the ID or passport of the parent/guardian.
The unabridged birth certificate of child with the "Apostille of The Hague" is also necessary.
DEPENDANT OF EU NATIONALS: you must submit:
1, 2, 3 and 4 AND EU passport: original or certified copy.
Marriage certificate: original and a certified copy. Dependent children under 18 years: full birth certificate and a certified copy. |
Important Note: Additional documents may be requested depending on the individual case.
PROCESSING TIME:
Minimum of 4 working days. Applications FOR GROUPS OF MORE THAN 10 PEOPLE take more than 12 working days. Applications FOR GROUPS OF MORE THAN 30 PEOPLE must be submitted 1 month in advance.
Visas can only be processed once all supporting documents have been received!
Please note:

Visa applications will be rejected if application forms are not fully completed and signed and are not accompanied by the required documents. |

The possession of a visa is only one of the prerequisites for entry into the territory of the Schengen State. Should the Schengen State’s border authority refuse entry, no claim to refund of the visa can be submitted. |

The Schengen State’s Consular Offices reserve the right to request further documentation should it be deemed necessary. |
| 4. |
For organized groups arrangements should be made well in advance with relevant issuing authority. |

There is no guarantee that a visa will be issued and no rights can be derived from the information obtained in the general Schengen visa requirements |

Visa processing fees are non-refundable if a visa is rejected. |

The border police at your arrival in the Schengen area may request the presentation of sufficient funds, a letter of invitation, hotel reservation and proof of medical insurance. Failure to present said funds/documents may result in entry being refused. |

Delays and procedure: It is the responsibility of the applicant to be aware of delays and requirements for the issuance of visas, before making travel arrangements and applying for a visa. |

Step 1
Go to the link “All about your Visas” to choose the appropriate Short Term Visa category or Long Term Visa Category for you and understand the requirements to complete your visa application.
Step 2
Click the link ‘BOOK AN APPOINTMENTTO THE CONSULATE GENERAL OF SPAIN’ or call our Call Center and follow the instructions for selecting a suitable appointment date from the available appointments.
Step 3
Pay the VFS service charge through a secured website, or the Interactive Voice Response Service and get confirmation of your selected date
Step 4
Print your Interview Appointment confirmation letter and report for your interview at the Consulate on the scheduled date with the supporting documents. Kindly ensure you read the security regulation notices before you visit the Consulate for an interview.
