Schengen Visa

A Schengen visa is a visa for the Schengen Area: 25 countries with no border controls between them.

Those countries are:
Austria Germany Luxembourg Slovenia
Belgium Greece Malta Spain
Czech Republic Hungary The Netherlands Sweden
Denmark Iceland Norway Switzerland
Estonia Italy Poland  
Finland Latvia Portugal  
France Lithuania Slovakia  

Schengen Visa (short term/max. 90 days per 180 days)

Foreign nationals who wish to travel to Spain must be in possession of a visa, unless they are nationals from countries which are not included in the list of countries with the obligation to carry a visa in order to cross external borders for stays in the Schengen Area of no more than three months (90 days) in a period of six months (180 days) from the date of entry into the Schengen Area.

Spain Visa for more than 90 days

If an applicant has a Spanish Resolution (to work, to live, etc.) they do not require an appointment, if not, the applicant will need to make an appointment through this website.

VISAS
US citizens with ordinary passports who wish to stay in Spain as a tourist, to study or on business purposes for up to 90 days DO NOT NEED A VISA.

There is no legal right to a visa.

The original DOCUMENTS submitted to obtain a visa WILL NOT BE RETURNED, even if the visa is not granted.

The processing fees are not refundable, even if the visa is not granted.

VISA APPLYING PROCESS

Step 1
Go to the link “All about your Visas” and choose either Short Term Visa or Long Term Visa and understand the requirements to make the visa application.

Step 2
Click the link ‘BOOK AN APPOINTMENT TO THE CONSULATE GENERAL OF SPAIN’ or call our Call Centre and follow the instructions for selecting a suitable appointment date from the available appointments.

Step 3
Pay the VFS service charge through the secure website or the Call Centre’s Interactive Voice Response Service and get confirmation of your selected date.

Step 4
Print your Interview Appointment confirmation letter and report your interview at the Consulate on the scheduled date with the supporting documents. Kindly ensure you read the security regulation notices before you visit the Consulate for an interview.
