    Closure of Australian Visa Application Centre in Hyderabad for State Assembly Elections

    Australia Visa applicants may please be informed that the Visa Application Centre in Hyderabad will remain closed on 07 December 2018 in view of the State Assembly Elections.

    Cochin Visa Application Centre to resume operation from 21 August 2018

    From 21 August 2018, VFS Global will resume operations at  its Visa Application Centre in Cochin.

    As a result of incessant rains in the State of Kerala and Visa Application Centre being closed the last 3 days, applicants may face long queues owing to the rush in submissions.

    A further delay in visa processing can be expected as the applications from Kerala will reach the respective Mission / Embassy / Consulate only early next week.

    Applicants who need to apply for their visa urgently may choose to lodge their application online.

    • Closure of Australia Visa Application Centre in Chennai on Wednesday, 8 August 2018

    Australia Visa Applicants may please be informed that the Australia Visa Application Centre in Chennai will remain closed on Wednesday, 8 August 2018 on account of the sad demise of Kalaignar Dr M Karunanidhi DMK Chief and Former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

    The VAC will resume regular operations on Thursday, 09 August 2018.

    Change in Visa Application Charges (Visa Fee) effective 01 July 2018

    Australia Visa Applicants may please note that the Department of Home Affairs reviews its Visa Application Charges (VAC) twice in a year and the changes are released on 1 January and 1 July respectively.

    The new prices will be released on 1 July 2018. However, as prices may change, it is recommended that you make arrangements accordingly to verify the applicable Visa Application Charge before lodging an application on or after 1 July 2018.

    New prices will be available on the Department’s website on 1 July 2018. If you are lodging an application before 1 July 2018, the current prices will apply. From 1 July 2018, the new prices will apply.

    Note: Australian Visa Application Centers and the Australian High Commission in New Delhi can only accept the correct and exact application fee.

    Fee Change Scenarios:

    Reduction in Visa Fee: VFS Global cannot accept demand drafts for an amount that is higher than the current Visa Application Charge; in such cases, please obtain a new demand draft.

    Increase in Visa Fee: If you have prepared drafts at the old lower Visa Application Charge, VFS Global will be able to accept an additional demand draft for the difference in the fee.

    Note: We cannot accept a payment in cash for the difference.

    Important changes to the Transit Visa – from 01 July 2018

    From 01 July 2018, all Transit Visa applications must be lodged online, via ImmiAccount, applicants will longer have access to, or be able to lodge, paper applications for this visa.

    Important changes to the Family-Other visa programme – from 1 July 2018

    From 1 July 2018, applications for the following visas must be lodged at the Perth Child and Other Family Processing Centre:

    • Aged Dependent Relative (Subclass 114)
    • Remaining Relative (Subclass 115)
    • Carer (Subclass 116)

    The above visa applications can no longer be lodged at the Visa Application Centre.

    Application and sponsorship forms for these visas are available on the Home Affairs website. Payment of the visa application charge can be made online through the ImmiAccount portal. However, online lodgement is not currently available for these visas. Completed forms must be sent to the processing office in Perth:

    Visa applicants are informed that the Australia Visa Application Centre in Jalandhar will remain closed on Monday, 02 April 2018 in wake of the nationwide strike called in reaction to a recent Supreme Court decision that overturned key provisions of the Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, The VAC will resume regular operations on Tuesday, 03 April 2018.

    Australia Visa Applicants and representatives will now have the option and convenience of lodging online visa applications by using the international credit card facility offered by VFS Global.

    This service will be available for an additional charge of INR 495 per application and will come into effect from Friday, 27 October 2017.

    Effective Thursday, 01 June 2017, Australian Visa Application Centre has introduced a new fee payment method of “Debit & Credit card Payments” for the collection of Visa Fees, VFS Global service charge and Value Added Services.

    *All payments made via the credit or debit card at the Visa Application center will be settled in INR. We accept all Visa, Master and Maestro cards.

     A one month window is being offered to make necessary administrative arrangements as effective 01 July 2017, it will be a mandatory requirement for all travel agents to pay by Debit & Credit cards only.

    Fee for Migration Category may be paid via demand draft if required.

    Prime Time (Weekdays)

    Australia visa applicants in India may please note that effective Wednesday, 1 March 2017, Prime Time appointment service will be available from Monday to Friday at all Visa Application Centres across India except Kolkata. This service allows applicants, who pay an additional fee to lodge their applications beyond the normal processing hours (Monday to Friday 09:00 to 16:00).     Global visa and citizenship processing times

    The Department of Home Affairs is continually looking to improve client information and processing arrangements.

    From 13 March 2017, you will be able to view current global visa and citizenship processing times for most visa subclasses and citizenship types by navigating to any product within Individuals and Travellers or Visa Support. On the product page, two processing times will be displayed, indicating how long it takes to finalise 75 and 90 per cent of all applications submitted globally.

    Processing times apply from the date your complete application is received by the DIBP processing office
