INTRODUCTION
From 1st April 2014, Applicants in Ethiopia will no longer be able to submit their Australian visa application and biometrics at this visa application center.
A new visa application center will open in the near future. In the interim, customers will be required to forward their visa application directly to the Australian High Commission in Nairobi.

Welcome to the website of the Australian Visa Application Centres in Kenya, Ghana and Ethiopia.

VFS Global Services Pvt Ltd is a commercial company working in partnership with the Commonwealth of Australia to provide Australian visa application services in Kenya, Ghana and Ethiopia.

The Australian Visa Application Centres (AVAC) in Nairobi, Accra and Addis Ababa offer services which include collection of visa application documents, charges and biometrics as well as returning of passports to applicants. The AVACs operate within the guidelines of the client service principles of the Australian Government Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP).

All applications will be assessed and decided by the Visa Section of the Australian High Commission in Nairobi in accordance with Australian immigration legislation and policy. VFS Centre staff do not have the authority to assess visa applications or make visa decisions.

Important note for visa applicants:

Applicants must lodge a complete and signed application form for the appropriate visa subclass, pay the appropriate visa application charge and provide their biometrics. Application forms for persons aged under 18 years must be signed by a parent or legal guardian.

All supporting documents and information should be submitted together with the application. Any documents that are not in English must be accompanied by a certified translation.

To avoid possible delays, you should include all relevant information and additional documentation in support of your application at the time of lodgement.

If you do not provide all the specified documentation at the time you lodge your application a decision may be made on the basis of the available information. Australian migration legislation permits a decision to be taken at any time after the application has been lodged.

You may be charged a courier cost for any additional documents which you subsequently submit to the AVAC.
VISA APPLICATION PROCESS
Step 1 : Select a visa subclass which is appropriate for the purpose of your travel to Australia and download the relevant visa application form.

Please note:  You can also obtain a visa application form at the Australian Visa Application Centre (AVAC).

Step 2 : Your visa application may require supporting documentation. For a list of supporting documentation required for your visa, see checklists provided under Visa Types. Gather together the required supporting documentation for your application.

To avoid delays all supporting documentation should be submitted at the time of application.

Step 3 : Organise Visa fee payment relevant to the country you are applying from. Bank drafts are to be made out to the "Australian High Commission".

Step 4 : Make an appointment with the Australian AVAC to lodge your application and submit your biometrics
Step 5 : Lodge your visa application and submit your biometrics at the AVAC. The Australian Visa Office may contact you to request additional information.
