The Embassy of Austria in Pretoria, South Africa, is pleased to announce the opening of a Visa Application Centre operated by VFS Visa Processing South Africa Pty Ltd.

The visa applications are to be submitted either at the Austria Visa Application Centre in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban. All applications will be assessed by The Embassy of Austria, Pretoria. The Austria Visa Application Centre offers the option of courier service for return of your documents submitted to us, directly at your doorstep.

For Prospective Applicants

Applicants who wish to apply for a Visa are requested to kindly read the information on this site carefully. The guidelines listed on this site are to help you prepare your documents as accurately as possible. This will reduce the chances of your application being incomplete or a delay in being processed.

Please note that you may be required to appear before a Visa Officer for a personal interview at the Embassy of Austria in Pretoria prior to a decision being taken on your application

Step 1 :	Only Short term visas are accepted at the VFS application centre. Please go to the link “All about your Visas” to understand details of Short Stay Visa’s. All applications are processed by VFS.
Step 2 :	A visa application can be submitted by the Applicant in person only, either to the Austria Visa Application Centre in Johannesburg, Cape Town or Durban Important The visa fee can be paid in advance and to our bank account before handing in the application or by Credit/Debit Card. Please remember to bring/submit your original deposit slip and please put your passport number as a reference.       For applications submitted in person at the Visa Application Centre - it is mandatory to Schedule an appointment to submit your Short Stay application. Step 3 :	Applications submitted at the Austria Visa Application Centre(s) for processing and thereafter forwarded to the Austria Embassy in Pretoria for decisioning. Important - Visa applications take up to 15 calendar days to process. Some applications may require further processing, which could take from 30-60 days.

Under normal circumstances it takes up to 15 calendar days to process your application. Please note that allocate atleast 2 extra days for all application.
