General content for Visas

Regardless of the type of visa that has been granted to a visa holder by the Consulate General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Manama, it allows a stay in the country not exceeding 90 days within each period of six months.

If the visa granted by this Consulate is a multiple-entry visa valid for six months or one year and the visa holder wishes to stay in the country for more than 90 days within each period of six months he/she should apply for permission to the authorities for Administrative Control of Foreign Persons of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria or such person should reapply for a long-term Bulgarian visa at an Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria.

Bulgarian visas are issued by the Embassies and Consulates of the Republic of Bulgaria abroad.

By applying for a Bulgarian visa the applicant agrees his/her personal data appearing on the application form to be electronically stored and processed and if necessary passed over to the appropriate authorities of other countries according to the international obligations of the Republic of Bulgaria.

Every foreign citizen who enters the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria on a motor vehicle has to present a document of ownership over this vehicle, if such ownership is not explicitly shown on the documents of registration of the vehicle.

A visa is issued only to bearers of passports or travel documents, which are valid for the country of The Republic of Bulgaria for at least 3 months after the end of the intended stay and which contain a blank page for affixing of visa vignettes.

Holders of Bahrain passports need visa to enter in The Republic of Bulgaria.

I. Holders of valid ordinary passports from the following countries do not need a visa to visit Bulgaria for up to 90 days within each period of six months:

Andorra, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Commonwealth of the Bahamas, Belgium, Brazil, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, El Salvador, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Israel, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Mauritius, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Poland, Portugal, Paraguay, Republic of Korea, Romania, Saint Kitts and Nevis, San Marino, Seychelles, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Singapore, UK (British Citizen Passport Holders and British Nationals/Overseas/ only), USA, Uruguay, the Vatican, Venezuela, SAR – China (Hong Kong, Macau)
