VFS has been appointed as an outsourced partner by the German Embassy London, United Kingdom to facilitate visa applications to Germany and Schengen countries. Applications will be accepted by appointment at the below mentioned address:
There is a service charge of £17.00 (inclusive of VAT) per application over and above the visa fees payable by all applicants
You must apply in person at the German Visa Application Center to lodge your application. If you are not a resident of the UK you should apply at the Embassy in your country of residence.
Please note that it is also possible to book an appointment for a Schengen visa directly at the Embassy. However, please note that there are only a very limited number of appointments available each day and they are usually booked weeks in advance. For an earlier appointment and a faster service it is recommended to book over VFS.

POSTAL APPLICATIONS

Before you send your application, please check if you fall under the right jurisdiction to be applicable to apply by post to avoid disappointment as your documents will be returned to you.
To apply for German visa by post, please ensure you meet the requirements for postal applications or your documents will be returned to you. You may only apply by post if you meet one of the following:

Procedure:
Please fill out the application form online ensuring all information is accurate. Once filled in, you may save and then take a printout. If filled in correctly, it will open in a PDF format and provide a barcode. Make sure to sign your application form as per your passport or your application will not be accepted.
There are two pages of declaration that ALL applications must read and sign when sending their applications. Please see link here. If these forms are not signed and attached to your application, it will be returned to you.
Applicants holding passports listed in the list below also need to fill in this declaration form alongside the above declaration or your application will be returned. Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Bahrain, Belarus, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, Kazakhstan (diplomatic passport only), Dem. Rep. of Congo, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, North Korea, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Uzbekistan, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, Palestine.
Once you’ve prepared your documents, please ensure you send it to the Joint Visa Application Centre in Manchester along with a postal order payable to German Visa Application Centre. Please note: Any applications sent with postal orders addressed to Germany Embassy or Republic of Germany will not be processed and returned to the applicant.
Please see the fee list to ensure you are providing a postal order with the correct amount. EU family members: £18.20; National of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Moldavia, Montenegro, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine, Republic of Yugoslavia £47.20 and all others £67.20.
A self-addressed Royal Mail special delivery envelope must be provided for the safe return of your passport and any original documents you submit. Please make sure that the envelope is big enough to fit your documents in.
If you have a separate UK residence permit card, please make sure that you send the original residence permit card along with a copy of it or your application will not be processed.

The Visa fees can be paid by Credit/Debit card (only at the Visa Application Centre) when submitting in person or Postal Orders in the name of German Visa Application Centre". Fees in Cash will also be accepted at the Centre.
Processed applications can also be returned by DX Securemail couriers at an additional cost of £14.80 per passport.
Jurisdiction
Scotland and the following counties in North England are part of the Consulate General's consular district:
All applicants staying in the below counties need to apply with the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Edinburgh / Scotland.
Cumbria, Darlington, Durham, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Northumberland, Redcar and Cleveland, Stockton on Tees, Tyne and Wear (Tyneside), as well as North Yorkshire with the exception of Selby and York.
Schengen visa
A Schengen visa has to be obtained from the Embassy of the country where the MAIN PURPOSE OF TRAVEL lies. Therefore, please check your travel plans before applying at the German Visa Application Centre in London
In case of travel to multiple Schengen countries; please apply to the Embassy of the country where you will be staying for the maximum number of days. If the number of days to be spent in multiple countries is the same, you must apply to the embassy of the country which will be your first point of entry.
Please note that all decisions regarding the issuance of, duration and number of entries regarding the visa are at the sole discretion of the German Embassy.

Please note that holders of Schengen visas are still subject to immigration control and are not guaranteed entry into any of the Schengen countries, even though they may hold a valid visa for these countries.
Applicants requiring special physical assistance are requested to contact our helpline prior to visiting our centre so that appropriate support can be offered.
Coin -operated Photocopier and Photo Booth are available for your use at the centre, should you require it.
