An application for a passport can be made within one year before expiry of the old passport. For this purpose, duly filled in application form for an Indian passport (form No. 1) along with your expiring passport, four recent photographs showing full formal view (3.5 X 3.5 cms with light background), a copy of "Resident Permit in Netherlands" or the receipt for the renewal of the resident permit along with expired Resident Permit need to be submitted. The normal duration taken for issue of new passport is about three months from the date of submission of duly filled in application form. Applicants can check about the status of their applications and find whether passports are ready for collection from our website.

If a clearance from original passport issuing authority is necessitated for any reasons, then an additional duration of at least six weeks may be taken for processing.

It is an offence under the Passport Act, 1967 to knowingly furnish false information or suppress material information. Passport facilities can be denied on grounds of suppression of factual information, submission of false particulars, willful damage, tampering of official documents or entries or transferring of passport.
Your Indian Passport is a valuable document. It should always be either in your own custody or in the custody of a person duly authorized by you. If lost or destroyed, the fact and circumstances should be immediately reported to the nearest Mission and to the local police.
A photocopy of your Indian Passport should invariably be kept in a safe place, separate from the passport itself. The copies should include the pages showing the personal particulars, validity of the passport, date/place of issue as also the stamp of departure from India, entry in Canada and visa issued by the Canadian authorities
Your Indian Passport establishes your identity in a foreign country. Hence it is IMPORTANT to have it renewed before the date of expiry. The passport can be renewed up to one year before or after the date of expiry.
All minors are required to have a separate passport. A child's name will no longer be included in the passport of either of the parents
Application for issue of passport to minor requires an additional declaration from both the parents
On acquiring Dutch nationality, the Indian passport should be submitted to the nearest Embassy for cancellation and return back to the holder
No consular services are permissible to refugees or their dependents or to those who left India illegally

Step 1
Click, “All About Visas”. Confirm the visa type based on your reason for travel; do not make any confirmed bookings.

Complete your application duly filled in the downloaded application form.

Step 3
If the application has been completed you must download & print all form/s, read and complete Checklist.

Step 4
Check fees payable, payment options and documents required. All such details can be found in the respective visa categories under the section

Step 5
Sign form/s at all indicated places.

Step 6
Ensure photos are strictly as per specifications.

Step 7
Check processing time to plan your travel accordingly.

Step 8
Attach all supporting documents required as per the Checklist. Make sure your application is complete. Incomplete applications cannot be accepted.

Step 9
Submit your Application along with the passport and required documents at any of our India Visa Application Centre in The Hague or collection Centre’s at Amsterdam & Rotterdam by person to the respective.

Your passport will be returned to you by the mode of delivery opted by you when submitted. Allow for 2-3 days transit time for courier return applications. Transit times differ by location and do not take into account any public holidays.
