Application Process post 7 May 2013
Applicants should refer to the new service provider BLS International’s website http://www.blsindia-usa.com for any information pertaining to the application process for Indian passport and related services after 6 May 2013.
Status of your application (For cases submitted to VFS Services (USA) Inc. until 06 May 2013)
We will continue to operate the Application Tracking System on our website for applicants to track their applications online until 31 May 2013. Please note that the processing times are the prerogative of the Embassy of India and its Consulates and the India Passport Application Centres do not play a role in the decision making and processing times for applications which are submitted to the Embassy and its Consulates.
Processed Cases- Pending for Collection
Applicants who have already applied before 7 May 2013 are advised to track their application status online at http://www.vfsglobal.com/india/usa. All undelivered passports have been handed over to the new service provider BLS International and the applicants will be responsible for collecting the same from the new service provider BLS International http://www.blsindia-usa.com.
Unprocessed Cases- Pending at Embassy/Consulate
Applicants who have applied before 7 May 2013 and not received their passports back might still have their applications under process at the Embassy or its Consulates and are advised to follow up with the new service provider BLS International http://www.blsindiausa. com in the city of their application on presentation of the receipts issued at the time of submission or a reference number received in email and or the bar codes mentioned on the receipts as well as emails. The India Passport Application Centers do not keep any cases/documents at its locations for processing and hand over all the cases/documents to the concerned embassy/ consulate within one working day of acceptance of application.
