Exemption of visa fee is mainly in the case of children below 6 years of age in the short term category.
Spouses and relatives of EU citizens are also exempted from the visa fee. In respect of directive 2004/38/CE and national law, applicants that fall under the category of relatives are: spouse or registered partner, descendants of less than 21 years of age or incapacitated, descendants and ascendants when they economically depend on the EU citizen. Only documents issued by the authorities of a Member State certifying the relationship entitle the applicant not to pay for the fee. Such applications will be given priority. VFS is authorized to charge its usual administrative fees.
The applicable visa fee in Dirhams is as per the current exchange rate. This is subject to quarterly review and, as a consequence, visa fee can change without notice.
The visa fee is non-refundable.
Visa Application
Process

Step 1
Applications for short term visas to Italy are accepted at the visa application centre.

Step 2
Before applying, please ensure you are very clear on your ‘purpose of visiting ITALY’ – do remember we are here to assist and help you through the entire visa application process but are not permitted to advise or guide you on choosing a visa category. Since our work is primarily administrative in nature, we have no say on whether you will be granted a visa and how long it will take to process your application, as this is entirely the prerogative of the Embassy.

Step 3
Please go to the link “VISA TYPESs” to understand details of various visas.

Step 4
Please ensure you read the security regulation notices before you visit the Visa Application Centre.
