Italy Visa Information - Iran

The Consular Section of the Embassy of Italy in Tehran is responsible for variety of consular services to Iranians such as issuing visa, certifying translated documents approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and approving authenticity of the documents certified by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

*Holders of Iranian diplomatic and service passports can apply directly to the Consular Chancery of the Embassy of Italy providing the Chancery with a Verbal Note of the IRI Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

*Study visas for students aiming at being admitted to Italian Universities can be requested directly to the Consular Chancery of the Embassy of Italy only upon confirmation of admittance to the entrance exams, on the basis of the regulations published by the Italian Ministry of University (MIUR). The admission process to the entrance exams is under full responsibility of the Embassy of Italy, which is the only institution entitled to provide the confirmation of admittance.

Students awarded with study grants can apply directly to the Consular Chancery of the Embassy of Italy upon confirmation by the Cultural Office of the Embassy of Italy.

*Having the copies of all the above-said papers and documents are necessary. Applicants are asked to show the original documents when they submit the copies.

*Applicants should have in mind that presenting all the above-mentioned documents cannot guarantee the issuance of visa.

* Visa fees once deposited cannot be refunded even if requested service is modified or not granted.

PROCESS

Step 1

Before applying, please ensure you are very clear on your ‘purpose of visit’ – do remember we are here to assist and help you through the entire visa application process but are not permitted to advise or guide you on choosing a visa category. Since our work is primarily administrative in nature, we have no say on whether you will be granted a visa and how long it will take to process, as this is entirely the prerogative of the Embassy. Step 2

Complete you visa application form and affix your photograph. You may download the form from this websites. Also, please mention name along with surname of father and spouse, if applicable.

Step 3

Ensure photos are as per specifications.

Step 4

Attach all supporting documents required as per checklist. Make sure your application is complete. Incomplete applications are not accepted.

Step 5

Visit the Italy Visa Application Centre during the working hours and receive a token number.

Step 6

Submit your application at the VFS centre in Iran along with the applicable fees in cash.

Step 7

Track your application online

Collect your passport from the Visa Application Centre or wait for courier delivery.
