VFS Global is a commercial company, working as a privately-run service company, authorized by the Embassy of Italy to provide the users with complete information on procedure and requirements for visa and to collect the visa applications. However, any assessment and decision on visa is taken by the Embassy only.

When to apply?

A visa application must be filed no sooner than three months prior to the date of departure. Please also note that the laws prescribe that the Consular Authority makes its decision on the application in a period of time that must not exceed 15 working days (that can be further extended in case of necessity). Therefore applicants are strongly encouraged to file their application at least 15 working days prior to the date of departure and never, in any case, more than 90 days before departure. This will allow an orderly examination of the applications and limit the chances that decisions on visa applications are taken after the applicant's scheduled date of departure.

Countries that have joined the Schengen treaty making it a total of 25. The list of Schengen countries are as follows: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain , Sweden and Switzerland.

The Embassy of Italy in Bangkok is pleased to announce the introduction of a New Visa Application Center. Under this new Agreement from the 5th of January 2012, in order to submit a visa application to the Embassy of Italy in Bangkok, Thai and foreign citizens residing must be come to apply for a visa in person, from Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 12:00and from 13:00 to 16:00 at VFS Italy Application centre. Processing Time Applications shall be decided on within 15 calendar days of the date of the lodging of an application which is admissible. The period may be extended up to 30 days. The visa fee is collected in cash at the VFS application centre at the time of handing in the application and is not refundable. Step 1 : Applications for Italy visa (Short-stay) are accepted at the Visa Application Centre. Step 2 : Before applying, please ensure you are very clear on your ‘purpose of visit’ – do remember we are here to assist and help you through the entire visa application process but are not permitted to advise or guide you on choosing a visa category. Since our work is primarily administrative in nature, we have no say on whether you will be granted a visa and how long it will take to process your application, as this is entirely the prerogative of the Embassy or Consulate. Note: It is recommended to submit the applications well in advance (at least two weeks) before the departure date. There may be changes according to the season and the type of visa. Business Fast Track Through the JVAC service, trade partners and foreign staff of the member companies of the Thai-Italian Chamber of Commerce (TICC) receive benefits from facilitations in the visa application procedure on the basis of the agreement between the Embassy andTICC.
