MVV/Long stay visa

Overview

Long-stay visa

A long-stay visa (type D) is issued to certain third-country nationals who intend to stay longer than 90 days in one Schengen state.

If you wish to stay in the Netherlands for longer than 90 days, you may require a long-stay visa. In the Netherlands this document is known as an ‘authorization for temporary stay’ (machtiging tot voorlopig verblijf (MVV)).
