VISA APPLICATION PROCESS
Applicants are requested to read the following steps carefully before submitting their application at the New Zealand Visa Application Centre in Taipei.

Label-less visas for Taiwanese visa applicants

New Zealand is moving toward the use of label-less visas and from Monday 9th December 2013 Taiwanese nationals residing in Taiwan who are approved temporary entry visas for New Zealand will no longer be issued with a visa label in their passport. Applicants instead will be given a label-less visa sent by email or (where there is no email address) by letter to the address provided in the application.

What does this change mean for me?

The move to label-less visas will mean some small changes for Taiwanese citizens submitting applications on and after 9th December 2013 at the Visa Application Centre in Taipei.
In addition to submitting an original passport applicants must also provide the following:

1 copy of the identity details pages of the passport (the pages with the name and personal details and photo image) and,
1 copy of each page of the passport that has a visa label, or exit or entry stamp.

Important: Except for the original passport, we do not require any other original documents with the visa application. Applicants are to provide copies only of all other documents as they will not be returned. If we need to see any original documents we will ask for them when we are processing the application.

Do I need to have any evidence of my visa?

New Zealand’s electronic visa system does not require visa labels to be placed in a passport to confirm a person’s immigration status or entitlements in New Zealand. Airlines that fly to New Zealand use an electronic system that confirms the visa, however until label-less visas are fully introduced, we are advising all travellers to print their approval letter and carry a copy of the letter with their passport when travelling to New Zealand. This will ensure that travellers do not experience any problems with boarding the aircraft.
