Guide to Processing Times and Withdrawals

The timelines given by South African High Commission in Nigeria for the processing of each application is an average of 6 working days. However visa applicants should bear in mind that each application is subject to an individual assessment and processing time may vary.

Withdrawal of the Application.

If the applicant wishes to withdraw his/her application after the submission of the application at VFS Centers in Nigeria, below are the requirements.

A withdrawal form is required to be filled. This can be collected from the VFS Centre or you may download it from the website click here
A covering letter mentioning the reason for the withdrawal.
A VFS ICR copy, a copy of international passports bio –page.

All the above documents are required to be submitted at the South African Visa Application Centres in Nigeria between 8.00am to 3.00pm Monday to Friday (except on holidays declared by the High Commission or Federal Government of Nigeria)


The withdrawal of application will take minimum 2 working days or might take a longer duration as per the discretion of the Consulate/High Commission

The Visa fees and VFS service fees are non- refundable.

The withdrawal form is required to be submitted at the respective centre where the application was submitted.

The withdrawal from is required to be submitted by the applicant in person. No representative can submit the form.

The withdrawal process starts from the time the withdrawal form is submitted at the Consulate/High commission by VFS
