The Government of India has withdrawn with immediate effect (midnight of November 8, 2016) the legal tender character of the existing and any older series banknotes in the denominations of Rs 500 and Rs 1000.

VFS will accept Visa fees and VFS logistic charges in all denominations of all notes other than the existing & old high denomination notes of Rs. 500 and Rs.1000 . VFS shall also accept demand drafts favoring VFS Global Services Private limited until 16 December 2016.

The Embassy of Spain in India, located in New Delhi and the Consulate General of Spain in Mumbai, are pleased to announce the opening of their Visa Application Centre operated by VFS (India) Limited in New Delhi and Mumbai. This service is available to:
All the nationals of India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, The Maldives and Bhutan who wish to apply for tourist, business or transit visa to Spain.
Residents in the abovementioned countries, holding legal resident permit, can also apply for the visa at the Visa Application Centre.

For Prospective Applicants

Applicants who wish to apply for a Visa are requested to kindly read the information on this site carefully. The guidelines listed on this site will help you prepare your application as accurately as possible and minimize delays caused due to incomplete documentation.

Please note that further documentation or personal appearance of the applicant can be requested by the Embassy of Spain in India, located in New Delhi or the Consulate General of Spain in Mumbai.

Applicants can continue submitting their application at the Embassy / Consulate in Delhi and Mumbai.

"Please note with effect from 15 June 2015, Visa applicants are informed that travel medical insurance issued by only some Indian insurance companies are will be accepted for visa procedures. However, visa applicants may seek to obtain insurance in any other country where claims against the insurance company would be recoverable in a Schengen state List of approved Indian insurance companies".

Step 1 : Applications for short stay visas (tourist, business, transit visas and short stay applications of family members of EU nationals) are accepted at the Visa Application Centre.
Step 2 : Before applying, please ensure you are very clear on your “purpose of visit “- do remember we are here to assist and help you through the entire visa application process but are not permitted to advise or guide you on choosing a visa category. VFS Global is only responsible for the reception of applications and release of the passports after they have been processed. VFS Global does not have a say on whether your visa will be granted and how long it will take to process your application, as this is entirely the prerogative of the Embassy of Spain and Consulate General of Spain.
Step 3 : Please ensure you have checked the jurisdiction section before submission of your application in New Delhi or Mumbai. Applications must be submitted at either of the offices in accordance with your actual place of residence. See link “Where to apply
