The Embassy of Sweden Bangkok is pleased to announce the opening of their Visa Application Centre operated by VFS (Thailand) Ltd. in Bangkok. The site provides information on procedures applicable to Thai residents who wish to apply for a Schengen Visa not exceeding 90 days to travel to Sweden. However the Resident Permits and visa exceeding 90 days, has to be submitted directly to the Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok.

The visa applications are to be submitted at the Swedish Visa Application Centre in Bangkok in accordance with the Jurisdiction specified. All applications will be assessed by Embassy of Sweden, located in Bangkok.

Please Note: All applicants should, submit their visa application in person at the Visa Application Centre.

For Prospective Applicants

Applicants who wish to apply for a visa are requested to kindly read the information on this site carefully. The guidelines listed on this site are to help you prepare your documents accurately. This will reduce the risks of your application being incomplete or take a longer time to being processed.

Please note that you may be required by the Embassy to appear for a personal interview, prior to a decision being taken on your application. The Visa Application Centre shall assist you with such an appointment required by the Embassy.

Processing Time:

The processing time will normally be 7 - 9 days for all visa categories depending on the number of applications submitted (excluding day of submission and return to VFS). However, in some cases the procedure may take considerably longer.

Kindly note that VFS will entertain queries regarding the status of your visa application during the process.

For applicants who prefer to apply for a visa at the Embassy:

	The Embassy applies a time booking system with a limited number of slots
	Appointments could be booked through VFS The processing time will be 2 weeks from the date of application

Step 1 :	Before applying, please ensure you are very clear on your ‘purpose of visit’ – do remember we are here to assist and help you through the entire visa application process but are not permitted to advise or guide you on choosing a visa category. Since our work is primarily administrative in nature, we have no say on whether you will be granted a visa and how long it will take to process, as this is entirely the prerogative of the Embassy of Sweden.
