Ans	Opening hours of the visa section at the Consulate General of Switzerland in Dubai is from 9:00 to 12:00 from Sunday through Thursday, except public holidays.

Q.5	What are the fees for a Schengen visa?
Ans	Visa fees vary according to the exchange rate. Please check the actual rate under “Visa Fee”. Kindly bring the exact amount. Please note that the amount can change without prior notice due to varying exchange rates.

Q.6	What if I do not bring all the documents needed?
Ans	Visa applications will only be accepted if all supporting documents as per requirements are produced.

Q.7	I am under 18 years. Does my application require specific documents?
Ans	Your legal guardian must grant parental consent with his/her signature on a proper letterhead stating that he/she also bears all responsibility for the applicant. Also required is a copy of the guardian’s passport.

Q.8	Do I have to apply personally at the competent Swiss Representation or can my application be submitted by a third party?
Ans	The visa application must be submitted in person,.

Q.9	Can I change the purpose of the visa?
Ans	Once in Switzerland, you are not entitled to change the purpose of the visa.

Q.10	Can I sign my own company letter?
Ans	No. Your partner or employer must sign the company letter. Letters signed by the applicant will not be accepted.

Visa Application
Process

As of 20 June 2011, all visa applicants must have an appointment to submit their visa application at the Consulate General. One appointment will be allocated per person, for example, if families of five are applying for visas, then 5 appointments must be made.

There are a limited number of daily appointments. You may book your appointments in advance.

Step 1

An appointment may be scheduled through the website. Each applicant is required to provide the name as in the passport, the passport number, mobile phone number and e-mail address. Once the appointment time and date is confirmed a letter will be generated with an appointment reference number for each applicant.

Step 2

The charge for this service is AED 50.00 (Fifty dirham) per application. Payment must be made via the secure payment on the website for an immediate appointment confirmation. In return you will be given a Visa Appointment and Receipt.

Step 3

Arrive at the World Trade Centre no earlier than 30 minutes prior to your appointment time and present the confirmation receipt on Level 22 to the Security Guard
