I had the privilege to be present on the 30th of June 2008 at the Opening
Ceremony of the Italian Office in the Joint visa Reception Centre, which is
already operating in Accra with the other Schengen partners (France, Germany,
Spain and the Netherlands).
I am confident that, thanks to the professional skill and to the friendly
approach of the Staff and Managers of VFS who will operate in tight teamwork
with the Staff of the Embassy, the Ghanaian public will receive a better
service.

Canadian temporary resident visas were able to submit their application for
visas at 9 visa application centres located throughout India. Previously,
applicants had to travel to New Delhi to submit applications in person or send
them by mail. Huge crowds gathered every day on the street outside the
chancery, many camping overnight in order to maintain their place in the queue.
There was no shelter from the weather, and no facilities. Every day applicants
were turned away because the office did not have the capacity to deal with all

Our arrangement with VFS changed all of that. Overnight the queues were
eliminated, our clients no longer had to travel to Delhi to submit their
applications. The VFS offices ran longer in-take hours, they put the
applicants' documents in a specified order and they tracked the forms and
passports carefully. A well-orchestrated drop-off and delivery system was put
in place so that we could commit to specific service standards. Clients could
easily track their files via telephone calls and SMS, or they could check the
whereabouts of their case on the VFS website. Well over 95% our clients use the
visa application centres and their response has been very positive. Canadian
visa staff could then concentrate on evaluating cases rather than managing
crowds.
The Visa Section simply would not be able to cope with current volumes without
the help of a service provider, our efficiency has gone up considerably, and
our client service has improved enormously."

"Our customers want a quick and convenient visa service. Working in partnership
with VFS Global has helped UKBA in Bangladesh deal efficiently and
effectively with an increasing workload. VFS Global present a customer
friendly, professional initial contact with UKBA at the same time as
allowing our own staff to devote their efforts to core functions. Working with
VFS Global has enabled us to expand our coverage, with a significant regional
focus in areas where demand is greatest: Sylhet, Dhaka and Chittagong.
Customers from Sylhet and Chittagong now rarely have to travel to Dhaka in
connection with their visa application. Their biometric details (fingerprints
and a digital photograph) are taken cleanly and in comfort by VFS staff,
documents are forwarded to the British High Commission for immediate
consideration, and passports are returned to customers through VFS centres. The
centres are popular with our customers and our staff and they represent a
significant improvement in visa service.”
