    Restricted Operational Hours of Australia Visa Application Centre in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain

    In light of the current COVID-19 outbreak, effective 25th March 2020 until further notice, the operational hours of the Australia Visa Application Centre’s in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain will be as follows

    Riyadh and Jeddah - Sunday to Thursday from 9:00 hrs to 13:00 hrs

    Al Khobar - Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 hrs to 13:00 hrs

    Bahrain – Sunday to Thursday from 8:00 hrs to 12:00 hrs

    The Department of Home Affairs have advised - 01 April 2020, all new applications for these following visa subclasses:

    • Child (Subclass 101)
    • Adoption (Subclass 102)
    • Orphan Relative (Subclass 117)

    Travel restrictions update – effective immediately..

    The Australian Government announced on 11 March 2020 that travel restrictions will now apply to travellers arriving from Italy. Travel restrictions remain in place for travellers arriving from any part of mainland China, Iran or Republic of Korea

    Travel restrictions extended– effective immediately..

    The Australian Government announced on 05 March 2020 that travel restrictions will be introduced for travellers arriving from the Republic of Korea and maintained for travellers arriving from any part of mainland China or Iran.

    01 March 2020

    Travel restrictions update – effective immediately..

    The Australian Government announced on 29 February 2020 that, as of 01 March 2020:

    • The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade will raise the level of the travel advisory for Iran from level 3 to level 4 – do not travel
    • Foreign nationals (excluding permanent residents of Australia) who are in Iran on or after 01 March 2020, will not be allowed to enter Australia for 14 days, from the time they have left or transited through Iran
    • Australian citizens and permanent residents will still be able to enter, as will their immediate family members (spouses, legal guardians or dependants only). They will be required to self-isolate at home for 14 days from the day they left Iran.

    Travel restrictions extended, with limited exemptions – effective immediately.

    The Australian Government announced on 27 February 2020 that travel restrictions will be maintained for a further week to 07 March 2020

    On 22 February 2020, limited exemptions from travel restrictions were announced for Year 11 and 12 students who remain in China.
    Year 11 and 12 students who remain in China due to Australian travel restrictions (apart from those from Hubei Province) have been offered a strict pathway to resume their studies in recognition of the importance of the final two years of school.     The Australian Government has announced that as of 01 February 2020, all travellers arriving from any part of mainland China, regardless of nationality, will be subject to enhanced border control measures to ensure the health, safety and well-being of the Australian community.
