HOW TO APPLY

If you live in India and wish to apply for a visa to Belgium please read carefully the information of all chapters on this site. The guidelines listed on this site are to help you prepare your documents as accurately as possible. This will help reduce any delays due to inadequate or incorrect submission of documents.

The visa applications may be submitted at any of our centres in New Delhi, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad or Ahmedabad based on the specified state jurisdictions of the Embassy in New Delhi or the Consulate General in Mumbai.

Apply for UK and Belgium Visa in Single VAC Visit:

Applicants for a Schengen short term visa C who have already registered with any Schengen member state their biometric fingerprints data along with a live photograph not longer than 59 months ago. In case of doubt it is advised to opt anew for the personal appearance.

For travelers applying for visas to the UK and Belgium, the Single VAC Visit service saves time by enabling the simultaneous submission of both applications at the New Delhi Visa Application Centre.
The Single VAC Visit Service is available at a fee of INR 350, in addition to the respective visa fees of the two countries.

The service is available for:

  • UK standard visitors
  • Belgium short-stay visitors (where Belgium is the main Schengen destination).

How to apply:

  1. Apply online for your UK visa.
  2. Note: Do not select ‘Priority Visa’ as the Single VAC Visit service is only available within UK Visas and Immigration’s standard customer service timescales of 15 working days.

  3. Follow the instructions to pay for your UK visa application online, and book an appointment at our New Delhi Visa Application Centre.
  4. Note: Please select the ‘Standard Appointments’ option. Apply online for your Belgium visa and print out a copy of the application form to carry along with you to the UK Visa Application Centre.

  5. Bring the following documents to the appointment:
    • Belgium visa application form
    • UK visa checklist
    • Three passport size photos (as per Mission specifications)
    • UK Visa Application Centre appointment confirmation
    • UK visa fee payment confirmation
    • Two sets of documents to support your Belgium visa application, including the application form and documents for the UK Visa. Please click here for a checklist of required documents.

    A UK business invitation (for business visitors)

  6. Kindly pay the fees for your Belgium visa, logistics and Single VAC Visit service in person at the Visa Application Centre at the time of document submission.
  7. Once a decision has been made on your application, you can collect your passport and documents from the Visa Application Centre, or have them returned to you by courier for an additional fee.

General remarks for the countries of the jurisdiction

The representation regarding visa matters in the countries of the jurisdiction applies only to Schengen visa (up to 90 days) needed for the followings reasons:

  • Tourist visits
  • Visits to family or friends
  • Cultural or sports manifestations
  • Business trips
  • Short traineeships
  • Transit through the Schengen area

Short stay visa applications aiming at a longer stay in Belgium (e.g. marriage in Belgium) are not covered by the representation agreement and must therefore be lodged with the Embassy of Belgium through the Honorary Consulates.

Visa Application Process

Step 1:

Before applying, please ensure you are very clear on your purpose of visit and on whether the Embassy / Consulate General of Belgium is competent for examining and deciding on your visa application which will be the case if:

  1. Belgium constitutes the sole destination of the visit(s).
  2. Iif the visit includes more than one country of destination, Belgium constitutes the main destination of the visit(s) in terms of the length or purpose of stay.
  3. If no main destination can be determined, the applicant intends to cross first Belgium in order to enter the territory of the Member States.

Step 2:

Go to Short Term Visa/Long Term Visa on this website and find out details related to the visa category you want to apply for, applicable fee, documents required, Online application form and more.

Step 3:

Complete you online visa application form and affix your photograph. Please ensure that you furnish travel document (passport or Identity Certificate-Yellow Book for Tibetans) and all the required documents, incomplete applications will only delay the process.

Kindly note once the online application form on Visa On Web portal is submitted, applicant will receive filled application form attached in an e-mail in his mailbox. Applicant needs to print this form before visiting VFS Visa Application Centre.

Step 4:

All applicants applying for Short & Long Stay visas are advised to schedule a prior appointment to submit their application at the VFS Visa Application Centres in respective locations.

Visit the Belgium Visa Application Centre during the working hours. Please click here to check address of the centre you wish to submit your application at. Please ensure you read the security regulation notices before you visit the Visa Applicaton Centre.

Step 5:

Submit your application at the VFS Global Centre along with the applicable fees.

Step 6:

Track your application online.

Step 7:

Collect your passport, notification and other documents from the Visa Application Centre or avail the option of courier delivery. Ask the officer at the VFS Global Desk regarding more details about the courier facility.

Please check carefully all the visa details. In case of discrepancies, please contact the Embassy/Consulate immediately for correction.

Please note that it will no longer be possible for third parties (travel agencies) to collect the documents on behalf of an applicant.
