  • It is possible that you will not be able to use your visa due to the closing of the borders, cancellation of the flights or conferences, meetings and any other reasons. The visa fee will not be reimbursed. It is advised to contact the airline before applying for the visa.
  • For applicants who had already been issued with a valid visa and who are not able to travel due to the measures to contain the Covid-19 and want to reschedule the trip, they must submit the following documents: completed and signed application form indicating the newly planned (postponed) travel dates, one photo, the travel document with the previously issued visa, the proof of new travel arrangements, postponement of meetings/conferences/events, as applicable, travel medical insurance covering the new travel dates, visa fee.
  • For all the reasons mentioned above, we strongly advise NOT to apply for a Schengen visa for Belgium until further notice.
  • Due to the current situation regarding the massive global spread of the Coronavirus, the Austrian Foreign Ministry has ordered all Austrian Embassies and Consulates around the world not to accept any more applications for visa (Schengen or residency).

Exceptions may apply for relatives of Austrian and EU citizens living in the same household in Austria, as well as diplomats on official mission to Austria.

This regulation comes into force with immediate effect and remains as such till further notice.

It is therefore requested that Schengen representations do not accept any more visa applications on behalf of Austria till further notice.

That is why, from now on until further notice, the Embassy of Belgium in Abidjan will not accept any visa application on behalf of Austria.
