KNOW YOUR VISA TYPE

If you wish to visit the Czech Republic for a short period of time, you must obtain a visa prior to entry if you come from a country with a visa requirement for entering the Schengen area. Vietnamese nationals are required to have a visa to the Czech Republic.

A short-term visa is only intended to allow a foreign national to visit the Czech Republic for a limited period of time (90 days in any 180 day period). If you wish to reside in the Czech Republic for an extended period of time (more than 90 days), you need to apply for a long term visa directly at the Embassy of Czech Republic in Vietnam.

Below is the list of short-term visa categories that you must submit at Czech Visa Application Centre managed by VFS Global. For detailed information on the required documents for the visa category you have selected, please click on the type of visa:

  • Tourism: This type of visa applies to those applicants who are traveling to the Czech Republic for the purpose of tourism.
  • Visit to family or friends: This visa is eligible for applicants who wish to visit relatives or friends who legally reside in the Czech Republic.
  • Business: This visa category is suitable for applicants who are traveling for the purpose of business (commercial purpose).

  • Sport, Cultural, Scientific events and study short stay: for who wish to visit the sport, cultural, scientific or artistic events and for study short stay which will be held in the Czech Republic.
  • Official passport and Family members of EU/EEA and Swiss citizens must submitted directly at the Embassy of Czech Republic in Hanoi.

    In Ho Chi Minh city and southern provinces (Danang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Ho Chi Minh city, Long An, Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Tien Giang, Ben Tra, Vinh Long, Can Tho, Tra Vinh, Hau Giang, Bac Lieu, Cà Mau).     For residence permit application, applicant must submit directly at the Embassy of Czech Republic in Hanoi.

    Important notes: in case the applicants is accompanied by travel agencies or intermediary individuals to prepare and submit documents, travel agencies or intermediary individuals must obtain power of attorney of the applicant (with applicant's signature, certified by local authority) to enter VAC with the applicant. Visa Application Center for Czech Republic shall maintain the rights to refuse third party to enter our Center if the power of attorney is missing.
