  • Important information when entering Denmark

    If you arrive from a country classified as a banned country, you must present proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than 48 hours before entry. If you fail to present such a test, you must expect to be refused entry as from Monday, 26 October 2020.

  • Travel Medical Insurance

    • Travel insurance is mandatory for all Schengen countries.
    • Please note: Travel insurance submitted to apply for Denmark visa should also include COVID-19 treatments.
  • The Denmark Visa Application Centers in Nigeria resumed operations on 22 June 2020. The Centre will however only accept applications for long term Visas (work and resident permit) and short term Visas with worthy purpose. The office shall be open only on Monday and Wednesday between 09:00 hrs to 14:00 hrs in Abuja and Lagos until further notice . Applications will be accepted only with online appointment booked.
  • The Danish Government has implemented extensive restrictions on entry to Denmark due to the Corona virus/COVID-19.

    These restrictions mean that you must expect to be rejected at the Danish borders even with a valid visa.

    The only exceptions are foreign travellers who have a valid visa AND a worthy purpose for entering. Worthy purposes include visit to close family members, travellers who are either parents or primary caretakers (e.g. foster parents) of minors residing in Denmark, visits to critically ill family members, persons who are in the process of a medical treatment in Denmark, persons who are attending a funeral in Denmark, and persons who will be part of a court case in Denmark.

    Ordinary tourist visits, family visits and business travel are not considered worthy travel purposes. Applications will be submitted to the Danish Immigration Service for consideration. Case processing times may be extended.

  • The Danish Government has implemented extensive precautionary measures due to the Corona virus/COVID-19.

    You can still apply for a visa to Denmark, however additional restrictions on entry into Denmark might be imposed in the coming days. These include, among other things, the possibility of medical examination on arrival, possible quarantine on arrival from high risk areas and the possibility of rejection of foreigners arriving from high risk areas at the border.

  • NEW ONLINE VISA APPLICATION: From 01 July 2019, you should fill in your visa application and pay the application fee online using After you have applied and paid the visa fee online, you must print and sign the cover letter from ApplyVisa and hand in supporting documents and supply biometrics at the Visa Application Centre.   • ONLINE PAYMENT OF Residence work permit application (long stay visa):

    From 01 July 2019, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark including all Danish diplomatic missions are introducing online payment of the embassy fee for residence or work permit.

    The receipt for the payment should be submitted at the Danish Visa Application Centre (VFS) when you hand in your passport, relevant documentation and supply biometrics.

    Please note that in R/W permit cases there are three fees to be paid.

    1. The fee to either The Danish Immigration Service or The Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI),
    2. the fee to the Danish embassy (using the link and
    3. the fee to the Danish Visa Application Centre (VFS).
