    Increased fees for visa applications

    Please note: As of 02 February 2020 the Schengen visa fee per person (Short Stay Visa) will increase from 60 to 80 euros or the equivalent amount in your local currency. For children between 6-12 years old the visa fee will increase to 40 euros or equivalent

    This fee change is not applicable to below nationalities

    • "NEW ONLINE VISA APPLICATION: From the 01 July 2019, you should fill in your visa application and pay the application fee online using https://applyvisa.um.dk/. After you have applied and paid the visa fee online, you must print and sign the cover letter from ApplyVisa and hand in supporting documents and supply biometrics at the Visa Application Centre”
    • NEW PAYMENT PROCESS REGARDING RESIDENCE AND WORK PERMITS:

      “From 01 July 2019, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark including all Danish diplomatic missions are introducing online payment of the embassy fee for residence or work permit.

      The embassy fee should be paid online using this link https://dys.um.dk/permit/

      The receipt for the payment should be submitted at the Danish Visa Application Centre (VFS) when you hand in your passport, relevant documentation and supply biometrics. Please note that in R/W permit cases there are three fees to be paid. 1) The fee to either The Danish Immigration Service or The Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI), 2) the fee to the Danish embassy (using the link https://dys.um.dk/permit/) and 3) the fee to the Danish Visa Application Centre (VFS).”

    NEW MANDATORY ONLINE VISA APPLICATION: From the 01 July 2019, you must fill in your visa application and pay the application fee online using ApplyVisa.um.dk. After you have applied and paid the visa fee online, you must print the cover letter from ApplyVisa and hand in supporting documents at the Visa Application Centre.

    Dear applicants, we would like to bring your attention to the upcoming changes in the list of visa centres accepting applications for visa to Denmark:

    • Starting from the 01 July 2019 acceptance of applications for Danish visas in Omsk and Khabarovsk will be stopped. Passports of applicants who had applied before the 01 July 2019 will be handed over as per the standard procedure.
    • Starting from the 01 August 2019 joint visa application centre in Voronezh will start to accept applications for visas to Denmark.

    Dear applicants,

    Please be informed that Denmark will host Ice Hockey World Championship in May 2018 from the 4th  to the 20th. Due to that fact the Visa Department expects to receive a lot of visa applications of those who are planning to attend ice hockey games. So the Embassy kindly requests to apply for a visa in a good time, and take into consideration as well that Visa department will be closed from the 29 March 2018 to the 02 April 2018(both dates included) due to the Easter holidays, and that due to internal events of the Visa Department from 06 April 2018 to 13 April 2018(both dates included) no visas will be issued, but applications will be accepted in visa centers. Accelerated procedure will be available for applications submitted before 03 April 2018 and after 16 April 2018.

    Applicants travelling to attend ice hockey games have to provide purchased tickets to ice hockey games to prove their purpose of journey and a set of documents for individual tourists.

    Visa Announcement: Prolonged Visa processing times

    Dear Applicants,

    Due to the peak season and an increased interest in visiting Denmark the Visa Department currently has longer processing time than usual.

    The Visa Department of the Denmark Embassy encourages you to apply in good time, prior to your trip to Denmark.

    Please note that there is no need to contact the Visa Department since all applications are being processed ahead of your planned trips, also taking into consideration the time for passport delivery.

      Notarized Power of Attorney for submission and passport collection.

      Starting from 12 February 2015, if the application is not submitted personally by the applicant, the applicant must issue a notarized Power of Attorney to the person handing in the application. Also if the passport is collected by a third party, a notarized Power of Attorney is required. For close relatives the document proving family relationship is sufficient. Accredited travel agencies and Red Carpet companies are exempted from this requirement.
