Overview

A residence permit is necessary for those wishing to stay in Denmark for more than 90 days. The Royal Danish Embassy in Singapore is the receiving office for residence permit applications for Denmark. Your application will be forwarded to Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI) or Danish Immigration Service (DIS) in Denmark for processing.

The application should be submitted in the applicant’s country of usual residence or home country. However, if this is not possible, and the applicant is staying legally in Singapore, the application may be submitted at the Joint Visa Application Centre in Singapore.

Visa Fees

Applicants have to pay 3 types of fees:

  1. A processing fee to SIRI or DIS in Denmark. To see the fee amount and make the payment, please go to www.newtodenmark.dk. Please pay by credit card for faster processing. Ensure you select the correct case type.
  2. A processing fee be paid to local Royal Danish embassy on the link https://dys.um.dk/permit/
  3. A service fee to the Joint Visa Application Centre

  • The visa application centre offers an optional service at a nominal additional cost:

    • Photo services
    • Courier service
    • SMS Tracking Facility
  • All charges are to be paid in cash Singapore Dollars only

Documents Required

Mandatory documents for online applications and applications submitted by the company in Denmark

  • A print of the confirmation that the application was submitted online (the confirmation has information about case order ID)
  • Valid original travel document
  • Other required supporting documents followed by rightfully translated versions according to the list covering the specific application form

Mandatory documents for applications submitted by post and applications submitted by the company in Denmark

  • A copy of the first three pages of the application form which was forwarded by regular postage mail to DIS/SIRI
  • Valid original travel document
  • Other required supporting documents followed by rightfully translated versions according to the list covering the specific application form

Photo Specifications

Applicants need to follow the below given guidelines:

  • Photograph of size 35mm x 45 mm.
  • Length of the head should not exceed 30 to 36 mm in length from chin to top of hair
  • Photograph must be in color with light or White background
  • Photograph for each visa applicant must be an un-mounted, full face photo, color photo as described below
  • Photograph must have been taken within the last six months
  • One photograph needs to be submitted

Processing Time

The Royal Danish Embassy in Singapore will forward the residence permit applications to The Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI) or The Danish Immigration Service (DIS) in Denmark for processing. For the latest information on processing times, please go to www.newtodenmark.dk and select the category you are applying for to view the processing time.

The Visa Application Centre will hand out the decision to the applicant once they receive it from the Royal Danish Embassy.

Make sure you are on time for your appointment; for those showing up late there is no guarantee that the application can be submitted and applicants may need to reschedule their appointment. Kindly, notify the Denmark visa application centre if you are unable to make your appointment.
