Step 2 Before you decide to apply for a visa please make sure you familiarize yourself with the information on the visa subclass you are applying for. Quick links to information on visa categories and other helpful information including Visa Fee, VFS Service Charge and Processing Time can be found on the Visa Wizard page on this website.

Step 3 Applicants should fill the Visa Application Form corresponding to the visa subclass under which they wish to lodge their application. Applicants can get the visa application form by visiting the nearest Denmark Visa Application Centre or by downloading the forms from Applications and Forms.

  • 25 November 2020

    VFS Application Centres in United Kingdom re-opens for Long stay/ resident permit application submission. Effective 3 December 2020, customers can submit Long stay/ resident permit applications at the Application Centres in United Kingdom only by prior appointment.

    Please note that due to current health and safety concerns regarding the COVID-19 emergency, temporarily mandatory courier service has been implemented. As soon as the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, and no special health and safety measures in regards to the COVID-19 emergency remain in place, the courier service will return to an optional service.

    In accordance with the UK government decision on the New National Restrictions for England, we unfortunately have to close operations in all of our application centers in London, Manchester and Edinburgh

    Kindly note all VFS centers will be closed for Visa application submission. This means that no more new applications can be lodged at the Visa application Centres from 04 November 2020

  • Important information when entering Denmark

    If you arrive from a country classified as a banned country, you must present proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than 72 hours before entry. If you fail to present such a test, you must expect to be refused entry as from Monday, 26 October 2020.

  • Denmark Application Centre in London and Edinburgh, United Kingdom re-opens for Residence and Work Permits and Schengen Visa application.

    • Effective 15 June 2020, customers can submit Residence and Work Permit applications at the Denmark Application Centre in London and Edinburgh, United Kingdom.
    • Schengen Visa applications are accepted in London and Edinburgh, United Kingdom starting 1st of July.
    • Manchester will be accepting application for Danish Schengen Visa applications starting 15 July 2020.

    • Applicants applying from the open countries can apply for a visa regardless of the purpose of their trip. Tourists applying for a visa from these locations should be made aware that they must document at least six overnight accommodations stating the place of accommodation, the duration of the stay and the names of the persons who have booked the stay (it can be a stay at a hotel, in a rented summerhouse, at a campsite, a private home etc.) Please read more here. The requirement of at least six nights does not apply to the Faroe Islands and Greenland.
    • Relevant documents:

      Booking confirmation/rental agreement from hotel, campsite or summerhouse rental agency stating the place of accommodation, the duration of the stay and the names of the persons who have booked the stay.

    • Proof of a stay in a private home must contain information about the location of the home and contact details of the persons entering Denmark and the person(s) letting or lending the home.
    • All applicants for Schengen Visas are also advised to provide Travel Medical Insurance which also covers COVID-19.
  • Your safety is our priority. As part of precautionary measures, customers visiting our Application Centres are required to wear face mask and gloves.

    Customers exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, including cough and difficulty breathing will be allowed to reschedule their application submission for another day and will be advised to seek medical attention.

    Please also note that

    • Limited number of customers will be allowed inside the Application Centre at a time. A pre booked appointment will be necessary.
    • Only the main applicant will be allowed inside the Centre.

  • Due to the current entry restrictions to Denmark, all Danish visa application centres are closed. Applicants who have handed in their visa application prior to 20 March 2020 will have their case processed. For more information visit the website of the relevant Danish mission.
