    • The new Minister of Immigration and Integration has amended the "Executive order on residence and work permits for interns and volunteers". The amendments will be effective as of 05 July 2019 and apply exclusively to interns in the green sector.

      • Below you will find a description of the changes:
      • Age of the intern
      • Present rules: The intern must be at least 18 years old but must not have turned 35 at the time of application.
      • New rules on 05 July 2019: The intern must be at least 18 years old but must not have turned 30 at the time of application.
      • Language qualifications
      • Present rules: No requirement regarding language qualifications.
      • New rules on 05 July 2019: The intern has to submit documentation for having passed a recognized language test in Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, English or German.
      • Education requirement
      • Present rules: The internship must supplement an educational programme, in which the intern is currently enrolled or has completed.
      • New rules on 05 July 2019: the internship must supplement an educational programme, in which the intern is currently enrolled.
      • Duration of the internship
      • Present rules: A permit for internship in Denmark can be issued for up to 18 months.
      • New rules on 05 July 2019: A permit for internship in Denmark can be issued for up to 12 months.
      • It continues to be a condition that the place of internship is approved to host interns, and the offered internship must be professionally related to the education programme of the intern.
      • It also continues to be a condition that the salary and terms of employment correspond to current Danish collective bargaining agreements for interns.
      • Applications submitted before 05 July 2019 will be processed according to the previous rules.
      • Pages on newtodenmark.dk containing information on residence in Denmark as an intern will be up-dated with the new rules on 05 July 2019.

After you have applied and paid the visa fee online, you must print the cover letter from ApplyVisa and hand in supporting documents at the Visa Application Centre ‘’

    Ukrainian citizens who have a biometric passport, issued in accordance with the standards of ICAO, are exempt from the visa requirement while travelling to EU/Schengen countries starting from 00:00 Sunday the 11 June 2017 (the night between Saturday 10.06.2017 and Sunday 11.06.2017). The visa free regime does not apply for the UK and Ireland. Ukrainian citizens, planning a trip to the Schengen area before 11.06.2017, should have a Schengen visa.

    If a student is going to Denmark as an exchange student used the ST1 online application and did not submit documentation in form of a bank transcript proving that he/she is able to support himself/herself during the stay in Denmark he/she should as soon as possible send this to the SIRI by mail study@siri.dk with reference to the Case Order ID.

    Closure of Visa Application Center in Donetsk

    Visa Application Center in Donetsk (4 a Leninskyi Prospekt) is closed since 14 July 2014 and will continue to remain closed until further notice. Applicants are requested to make a note of the same and plan for submission of their visa applications at any other visa application center.

    Please note that effective 23 June 2015, Ukrainian citizens and people residing legally in Ukraine would need to appear in person in order to provide biometric data (fingerprints and digital photography),this concerns the applications for the short-term Schengen visas (max. 90 days in 180 days).     Embassy does not recommend applicants to take assistance from any kind of unauthorized persons near the Visa Application Center.
