Welcome to the website for the Icelandic Visa Application Centre.

The Embassy of Iceland is pleased to announce the opening of its Visa Application Centres. This site provides information on procedures applicable to resident Russians who wish to apply for a Short Stay Visa (Less than 90 days) to travel to Iceland.

The visa applications are to be submitted at the Icelandic Visa Application Centres. All applications will be assessed by the Embassy of Iceland, located in Moscow.
Attention Individuals!

According to the Federal law of the Russian Federation №152-ФЗ “On personal data” all applicants should sign “The agreement on processing personal data”. Please note that an applicant who submits his/her documents through an authorized representative should also prepare this document in advance and submit it along with his/her Application. For Prospective Applicants

Applicants who wish to apply for a Short Stay Schengen Visa Iceland, kindly read the information on this site carefully. The guidelines listed on this site are to help you prepare your documents as accurately as possible. This will reduce the chances of your application being delayed or declined due to inadequate or incorrect submission of documents.

The Icelandic Visa Application Centres would accept applications for a Schengen Visa for submission at The Embassy of Iceland in Moscow.

Please note that you may be required to appear before a Visa Officer at The Embassy of Iceland prior to a decision being taken on your application. The Visa Application Centre shall help you to take an appointment for the same.


Physically challenged applicants are requested to contact our helpline prior to visiting our centre to submit your application so that we may offer you the best possible assistance.

A visa facilitation agreement between the EU and Russia has been signed entered into force on 1st of June, 2007. With the final ratification now concluded, the remaining provisions will come into force, e.g.:

  Extension of the group of persons being exempted from paying the visa fee, cf. Article 6 in the agreement
  Extension of the possibility of issuing long-term visas with multiple entries under certain conditions being fulfilled
  Visa exemption for holders of Russian diplomatic passports
  Introduction of a processing time of maximum 10 days from the date of applying, which may be prolonged in specific cases

Submitting Your Application

Where To Apply

Submission of Visa application and collection of passports can be done by the following:

Processing time will be at least 7 (seven) working days for Transit, Business and Seamen applications. For Tourist, Visiting family and friends and Sport / Culture / Science / Study (less than 90 days) the processing time will be at least 10 (ten) working days. Applications accepted at The Icelandic visa service centre will be submitted on the next working day to the Embassy. In case an application needs to be referred to the Icelandic Immigration Service, processing time will be a minimum of 6 (six) weeks. Processing time for applications accepted in the regional visa centres increases for the time required for delivery of passports to Moscow and back from Moscow to the regional visa centre.

Visa Application Process
Step 1 : All visa applications are accepted at the Visa Service Centre.
Step 2 : Before applying, please ensure you are very clear on your ‘purpose of visit’ – do remember we are here to assist and help you through the entire visa application process but are not permitted to advise or guide you on choosing a visa category. Since our work is primarily administrative in nature, we have no say on whether you will be granted a visa and how much time it will take to process, as this is entirely the prerogative of the Embassy of Iceland to decide on.
