  • The Irish Visa Application Centre (VAC) will reopen in Caracas – Venezuela on Monday, 19 October 2020. The opening days are available only during the "Flexible" weeks announced by the National Government of Venezuela.

VAC will only accept “D” category long-stay applications from visa required nationals residing in Venezuela. Priority/Emergency visa applications will continue to be processed. Short-stay visas (‘C’ categories) will not be processed at this time due to ongoing Covid-19 restrictions in Ireland. For more information, please visit the Embassy of Ireland’s website at https://www.dfa.ie/es/embajada-de-irlanda/mexico/

Your safety is our priority. As part of precautionary measures, customers visiting our Visa Application Centre (VAC) may be subjected to body temperature checks to assess their health conditions and required to wear a face mask. Customers exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, including fever (higher than 38 degrees Celsius), cough and difficulty breathing will be advised to seek medical attention at the nearest healthcare facility of their choice.

Apart from the safety procedures conducted, please note that:

Limited number of customers will be allowed inside the Visa Application Center (VAC) at a given time, therefore, you need to book an appointment prior visiting the VAC.

To book your appointment, please send an email to Ireland@vfshelpline.com

  • Irish authorities have started a limited resumption of visa services from Monday 22nd June.

During this initial resumption phase, they will only be accepting Long Stay “D” visa applications, including Study, as well as those identified under their current criteria as Emergency/Priority visas. While they are again accepting long stay visa applications for processing, the actual issuance of non-Emergency/Priority visas remains dependent on Public Health Advice, and has not yet begun. It remains the position that they are not accepting any short stay visa applications, except for cases that fall under the Emergency/Priority criteria.

There are still restrictions in place in many countries, so in locations where it isn’t possible to resume from the 22nd June, they intend to resume accepting visa applications as soon as is possible thereafter. Again any resumption of services is subject to current health and safety advice in relation to the COVID 19 pandemic.

  • Important Update: Courier return of passports made mandatory for Ireland visa customers

Effective 13 March 2020, in light of the COVID-19 alert and keeping in mind the health and safety of our customers and employees, the courier service for return of passports to Ireland visa customers has been made mandatory. Customers no longer need to visit the Visa Application Centre to pick up their passport once it is ready for collection – the passport will be couriered to their location of choice (serviceable by our courier partner, Tealca). The courier service has been made mandatory for a temporary period to limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus and reduce the footfall at the Visa Application Centre. During this period, VFS Global will offer a reduced price on courier fees, at USD 17,16 inclusive of taxes. We will post an update on this page when the courier service is made optional again. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

  • The re-opening of the centres will be subject to notifications from central, provincial and city authorities, as well as Irish authorities, so please return to this page for further updates. For further information you may visit the website of the Irish Immigration Service http://www.inis.gov.ie/ or the website of the Embassy of Ireland in Mexico https://www.dfa.ie/es/embajada-de-irlanda/mexico/
