    The Italy visa Application centre resumed operations with limited categories,


    • Members of the household of the citizens of Schengen Member States, United Kingdom, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino or the Vatican;
    • Members of the household of foreign nationals residing in EU Member States, Schengen Member States, United Kingdom, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino or the Vatican;
    • Citizens of all nationalities for reasons of work, health or absolute necessity, or to return home or to one's place of residence or dwelling, as well as for reasons of study;


    • Mandatory isolation of 14 days;
    • Persons travelling to Italy for a short stay (up to 120 hours in total) for proven work, urgent or health reasons. At the end of the 120 hours, they are obliged to stay in quarantine or leave the Italian territory.


    All other reasons for travelling to Italy shall continue to be prohibited.

    Documents certifying the conditions described above must be submitted with the visa application.

    The Embassy is not responsible for any decision taken by the airport police in Italy, which is fully entitled to check the documents and refuse entry to visa holders into the Italian territory.

    "Closure of the Italy Visa Application Centre/Qatar from 01 April 2020

    VFS Global informs that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic declared by WHO and the measures adopted by the State of Qatar to contain the spread of the novel Coronavirus in the Country, the Italy Visa Application Center in Doha will be closed from the 01 April 2020 until further notice.

    Considering the current situation, applicants who have decided to postpone their trips to Italy (without cancelling their hotel reservation) and have not used yet their visas with validity from 01 February 2020 to 30 June 2020 can obtain new ones in replacement.     The Italian Government has adopted measures to combat and contain the diffusion of COVID-19, limiting the freedom of movement on the national territory, except for movements justified by proven work needs, emergencies or health reasons (Decrees dated 08 March 2020 and 09 March 2020). Foreign citizens are also subject to the above-mentioned measures upon entry into the Italian territory.

    Novel Corona Virus Awareness Communications – IMPORTANT NOTE

    Please note: As of 02 February 2020, the Schengen visa fee per person (Short Stay Visa) will increase from 60 to 80 euros or the equivalent amount in your local currency. For children between 6-12 years old the visa fee will increase to 40 euros or equivalent.

    Please note that the Schengen system doesn’t allow to process applications more than six months prior to the application travel date.

    Italy Visa Application Centre in Doha can only accept applications from holders of residency visas issued in Qatar.
