31 July 2020: European Union citizens including UK nationals, and members of their families, as well as residents of third countries on the list established by the EU can presently travel to the Netherlands. Please note this list is subject to change, according to developments regarding Covid-19.
For countries still under the EU travel ban, there is a limited number of exemptions (where it ís possible to travel to the Netherlands).
Visit the relevant page on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website to view the list of countries, to learn more about the exemptions and to see if you can apply for a visa.
Your application will only enter the decision phase if it fulfils all Schengen visa requirements and explicitly and clearly meets the criteria for an exemption.
Effective 21 March 2016 VFS Izmir Visa Application Center will accept VIS applications (fingerprints given after 25 September 2014) from Travel Agencies only between 13:00 – 14:00.

The Visa Information System (VIS)
The Visa Information System (VIS) is an IT system that allows Schengen States to exchange visa data. The main purpose of the VIS is to simplify the visa issuance process, facilitate checks at external borders and to enhance security for everyone involved, including applicants.
The Schengen States’ Visa Information System has been operational since 11 October 2011. A phased rollout is underway, connecting more of these States’ visa sections to the VIS at each stage. The VIS will be operational in our region on 25/09/2014.
The VIS works by linking Schengen States’ consulates and external border crossing points to the central VIS database. The introduction of the VIS has necessitated various changes to the visa application process:

To apply for short stay visas
Visa Application Centers in Antalya, Bodrum, Bursa and Edirne can submit only applications which have given biometric details (biometric fingerprints) after the 25 September 2014 on the VIS system and children under 12 years. If applicant is not applying in person, he / she can authorize the representative by signing the authorization letter. Applicants who will apply from Antalya, Bodrum, Bursa and Edirne centers must shedule an appointment from our Call Center: 0212 373 58 06.
Applicants who have not given biometric details (biometric fingerprints) after the 25 September 2014 on the VIS system have to apply in person in the closest application center from Ankara, Istanbul (Harbiye and Altunizade), Izmir and Gaziantep. To take more information about VIS and to schedule an appointment please call our Call Center. Starting from 25 September 2014, applicants can submit their visa applications in accordance with new biometric enrollment procedure in any of the following Visa Application Centers: Ankara, Istanbul (Harbiye and Altunizade), Izmir or Gaziantep.
