Before you visit the VFS Global Office in Edinburgh, London or Birmingham, you will need to make an appointment using the online appointment system.
Applicants who wish to submit their passport or ID card application in London, need to book their online appointment by clicking on London appointment.
Applicants who wish to submit their passport or ID card application in Edinburgh, need to book their online appointment by clicking on Edinburgh appointment.
Applicants who wish to submit their passport or ID card application in Birmingham, need to book their online appointment by clicking on Birmingham appointment.
The VFS centre in London provides prime time appointments (for an additional prime time fee) on the following days:
Applicants, who wish to use the prime time service, need to book their online appointment by clicking on London Prime Time Appointment.
“Applicants should be aware that there are no facilities after office hours to have passport photographs made as the shops will be closed. Applicants must therefore ensure that the passport photographs they will submit meet the official requirements, see Photo matrix guidelines 2007”.
Once the appointment booking process has been completed, the applicant will receive an appointment booking confirmation email with the appointment letter (as PDF attachment), which can be printed as follows:
The appointment letter should be brought to the application centre and presented to VFS security staff upon arrival in the application centre on applicant’s appointment date; the applicants are requested not to come earlier than 20 minutes before their booked appointment time in order to control crowd flow in the application centre.
