Increased fees for visa applications
Please note: As of 02 February 2020 the Schengen visa fee per person (Short Stay Visa) will increase from 60 to 80 euros or the equivalent amount in your local currency. For children between 6-12 years old the visa fee will increase to 40 euros or equivalent
- As of 02 February 2020 a new Schengen Visa Code is applicable. Visa applications should be submitted minimum 15 days and maximum 6 months before the intended date of departure.
As from 01 January 2020 visa applications and applications for residence permits from Canadian citizens and foreign citizens residing legally in Canada for Norway will be processed by the Royal Norwegian Consulate General in New York.
Customers should register their applications and pay the fee for their application electronically in the Application Portal at the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration. Please make sure that you choose register application at Royal Norwegian Consulate General in the UDI application portal. Customers should book an appointment at VFS Global in Ottawa or Toronto to arrange submitting documents, passport, and biometrical data. Please be informed about the time aspect, and the cost of shipping the documents to and from New York. The fees are as following:
application fee (paid electronically when registering the application)
- service fee paid at VFS 45 CAD
- shipment fee paid at VFS Canada for sending documents to/from VFS to the Royal Norwegian Consulate General in New York 115 CAD VFS Toronto and 130 CAD VFS Ottawa
