Norwegian Visa Application Centre (VAC) is a service provided for the Embassy of Norway in Cairo, by VFS (GCC) LLC (hereinafter referred to as “VFS Global”).
Subsequently, VFS Global has appointed Etimad Egypt as Service Partners to provide these services. Thus, the Norwegian Visa Application Centre is a service provided for the Embassy of Norway in EGYPT operated by Etimad Egypt on behalf of VFS Global. Etimad Egypt provides logistic services to visa applicants seeking an entry into Norway and is only responsible for the following:
Notwithstanding anything else to the contrary, the Embassy of Norway reserves the right to ask for further documentation and to refuse the visa application.
In certain cases, instead of the aforesaid procedure, the Embassy of Norway will hand over the relevant Documents to the Applicants directly. In such cases, VFS GLOBAL shall not be responsible for any loss or damage to the Documents, in any manner whatsoever.
It must be noted that the grant or refusal of the Norwegian visa is at the sole discretion of the Embassy of Norway and VFS GLOBAL is neither involved in the process nor is liable or responsible in any manner whatsoever for any delay in processing or grant or rejection of the visa application of any applicant by the Embassy of Norway.
VFS GLOBAL takes every reasonable precaution while handling the Documents of applicants. However, VFS GLOBAL shall not be responsible in any manner whatsoever to the applicant for any Documents which are lost in transit by accident, theft, natural calamities (act of god) or any other reason outside the control of, or not arising out of a willful default of, VFS GLOBAL.
The applicant agrees and accepts that VFS GLOBAL neither controls the Embassy of Norway nor does it control or operate the services provided by them. Hence, VFS GLOBAL will not be liable or responsible in any manner whatsoever for the loss or damage of applicant Documents is due to any default on the part of the Consulate General of Norway.
The applicant agrees and accepts that the courier acceptance and delivery service through which the Documents are returned to the applicants is operated by a third-party. VFS GLOBAL does not control or operate any courier company, neither does it control or operate any facility or service provided by the courier company. VFS GLOBAL disclaims any and all liability for any loss or damage caused to the applicant in the event that his/her Documents are delayed/ misplaced/ lost/ damaged by the courier company, whether such delay/ misplacement/ loss/ damage result from negligence, accident or any other cause. In no event shall VFS GLOBAL and/or its representatives be liable for any direct, indirect, punitive, incidental, special, consequential damages or any damages whatsoever due to such delay/ misplacement/ loss/ damage of the Documents, including the applicant's passport. Without prejudice to the aforesaid, VFS GLOBAL's and/or its representatives sole and exclusive liability in case a passport is lost or damaged in transit, is limited/restricted to the reimbursement of the amount of fees charged by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of EGYPT, for the replacement of a lost / damaged passport through normal application procedure. Such reimbursement of the fee amount will be made by VFS GLOBAL to the applicant only on the presentation by the applicant of the payment receipt issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of EGYPT. The applicant agrees that the foregoing limitation of liability is an agreed allocation of risk between the parties and this limitation of liability is and shall be an integral part of this disclaimer.
Negotiable Instruments, whenever applicable, are subject to realization. The application fees once received by VFS GLOBAL from the applicant will not be refundable under any circumstances, irrespective of whether or not the desired visa is granted by the Consular Agency of Norway to the applicant.
VFS GLOBAL, in its sole discretion, may change, amend, cancel or withdraw any or all of the terms and conditions mentioned herein at any time without any prior notice. No employee of VFS GLOBAL has any authority whatsoever to change / amend / amplify or withdraw any or all of the terms and conditions mentioned herein without the prior written approval of VFS GLOBAL.
These terms and conditions shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of EGYPT. Any claims or disputes arising in relation to the services provided by VFS Global to the applicant shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in EGYPT.
The Short Messaging Service (‘SMS’) is an optional added service provided to Visa Applicants is to update on current status to the applicant with regards to Visa Application Process. The information provided by SMS is based on the information provided by the Embassy of Norway. While VFS Global ensures that information is made available to the Visa Applicant promptly and accurately, the Visa Applicant shall at all times be responsible for providing and maintaining an SMS text compatible mobile phone number where VFS Global can send text messages regarding the status of the Visa Application. The Visa Applicant is responsible for ensuring connection to a mobile network capable of receiving the SMS Services. The Visa Applicant understands that if their mobile phone is switched off, disconnected for any reasons or is out of coverage for a period of 24 hours or more, their mobile network provider may delete any SMS messages to be received by the Visa Applicant.
The time to deliver the SMS is dependent on several factors such as upon the traffic on the mobile network and whether the Visa Applicant mobile phone is within reach and switched on and cannot therefore be guaranteed by VFS Global. VFS Global is not a mobile network operator and does not guarantee the delivery of SMS text messages.
The Visa Applicant confirms that they have provided the accurate mobile number for receiving SMS and that they are the owner or its legitimate user, or that they have the consent of the owner or legitimate user, of the mobile phone using for the Services. The Visa Applicant acknowledges that using another person's mobile phone/providing inaccurate mobile phone number/unauthorized use of mobile phone number for receiving the SMS may entail disclosure of Visa Applicant ‘s confidential information which disclosure shall be at the sole risk of the Visa Applicant
The Services, once purchased, will be available to the Visa Applicant from the time of application till complete processing of the application or such other period as VFS Global may advise via our website located at www.vfsglobal.com/norway/egypt/index.html. VFS Global reserves the right to withdraw this service at any time and without notice.
The Visa Applicant must not use (or permit any third party to use) the SMS Service to send any message or communication which is Spam, illegal, offensive, abusive, indecent, obscene or menacing or causes annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety or infringes the rights of third parties. VFS Global reserves the right to withdraw the SMS service to such Visa Applicant if they are in breach of the abovementioned condition. VFS Global may also withdraw the Services if VFS Global in its sole discretion apprehends that the SMS service is being used for such purposes. For operational reasons VFS Global may vary the technical specification of the Services with or without notice. In the event of any change to the Service these Terms and Conditions is to be treated as varied accordingly.
The Visa Applicant acknowledges that the SMS Services may, at any time, be adversely affected by problems with the Visa Applicant mobile phone network, force majeure events including, without limitation, interference to the network coverage. VFS Global is not responsible or liable to the Visa Applicant for any loss, damage or expenses incurred directly or indirectly by the Visa Applicant as a result of any difficulties experienced by the Visa Applicant‘s mobile phone service provider. Subject to the constraints described within this paragraph, VFS Global shall carry out the services with reasonable care and skill.
If the Visa Applicant does not receive SMS relating to these Services, the Visa Applicant should inform VFS Global through email or Helpline numbers provided.
The SMS service delivers the Visa Application Status based on the information received by VFS Global from Embassy of Norway.
To use the Services, The Visa Applicant should refer to the instructions available on the www.vfsglobal.com/norway/egypt/index.html The Visa Applicant agrees to comply with all instructions VFS Global may give concerning these Services, including any security instructions. Failure in compliance of the instructions shall entitle VFS Global to deny the Visa Applicant’s access to these Services.
The Visa Applicant is responsible for paying charges for the message origination. Charges once paid for SMS service will not be refunded under any circumstances.
The Visa Applicant shall at its sole risk be responsible for taking all reasonable steps to prevent unauthorized persons gaining access to the Services.
While VFS Global takes every precaution transmission of information to transmit information. VFS Global shall not be responsible or liable for any unforeseen events and circumstances beyond the reasonable control of VFS Global.
VFS Global may in its sole discretion temporarily suspend the provision of the Services if such provision could materially affect the quality of any telecommunications service, including the Services, provided by VFS Global.
VFS Global specifically excludes all liability of any kind (including negligence) in respect of any third party information or other material made available on, or which can be accessed using SMS text services.
Collection of data
The privacy and protection of personal data is very important to VFS Global, including all its other brands and affiliates. VFS Global complies with any mandatory data protection legislation when collecting and processing personal data. Whenever the Visa Applicant is in the process of applying for SMS Service through a visa application centre VFS Global may collect and store (subject to Consulate guidelines), as the case may be, the following information of the Visa Applicant: Fu ll Name, Mobile Number & Email id, Language Preference of SMS, and the country for which the Visa Applicant has applied for a VISA for the purposes of processing the visa application.
Disclosure to third parties
In accordance with all mandatory data protection legislation The Visa Applicant/Users r data may be disclosed to third parties processing data on behalf of VFS Global /its facility management partner. In this context the Visa Applicant’s data may also be transferred abroad. This data may be disclosed within VFS Global to other than the collecting entity. Data may be used by these other VFS Global entities to the same extent as the collecting VFS Global entity is entitled to use it. The Visa Applicant’s data is treated as confidential and will not be disclosed to third parties, save for the purpose of VFS Global fulfilling its contractual obligations vis-à-vis The Visa Applicant/Users , or if required under mandatory law, particularly if requested by the competent authorities or for the purpose of enforcing VFS Global’s rights.
Use of data
Collected data will be processed in good faith and will be used in order to transmit the Visa Application status via SMS & Email. VFS Global does do not intend to use the Visa Applicant’s information for any other purpose, except in cases where VFS Global has received consent from the Visa Applicant to use the information for the purposes of sending related marketing information (such as airline advertisements), which is normally included on return of the Visa Applicant’s passport and/or sent to by e-mail on the registered e-mail address. The Visa Applicant’s information is held by VFS Global in the computer server(s) located in UK.
The applicant hereby accepts and confirms that the applicant and/or his/her representative, prior to submitting the visa application, has read, understood and agreed to be bound by, without limitation or qualification, all of the terms, conditions and details provided herein.

Limitation Of Use
Without limiting other remedies, VFS Global may at its sole discretion or at the advice or under the directions of its clients limit, suspend, terminate temporarily or permanently, disable or prevent a visa applicant/user from accessing/making use of its service, prohibit access to its website/s, remove hosted content, and take technical and legal steps to keep user/s off the Site if VFS Global thinks that the User is or is attempting to resort to abnormal usage or abuse, creating problems, potential or otherwise or possible legal liabilities, or is not acting consistently with the normal usage.
When the visa applicant/ user provides VFS Global content which shall include personal information of user and audio signals / video images of the visa applicant/user and/or stored in CD/DVD and made available to the Embassy when required, the visa applicant/user hereby gives consent to VFS Global for using all such Information and/or storing such User Information and making available to the Embassy when required and grants VFS Global a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free and sub licensable right to exercise the copyright, publicity, and database rights the user has in the User Information, in any media known now or in the future. VFS Global has taken necessary steps to implement and maintain security practices and procedures to protect User Information from unauthorized access, damage, use, modification, disclosure or impairment. VFS Global has in place suitable protection mechanism and guidelines for usage, retention and protection of User Information against unauthorized access, disclosure or abuse.
Disclaimer Of Warranty
While VFS Global makes and strives to provide secure and continuous connectivity and internet access, VFS Global, the Embassy and/or its clients shall not be responsible or liable to a visa applicant/user for any loss or consequential damage, including among other things, any loss of dates obtained, time, data or information furnished or entered on the website or the application forms, etc which may, among other things, have occurred as a result of any events or acts leading to interruptions in internet connectivity, transmission of signals, server breakdown, systems crashing, hacking, servicing and any other events or acts. Visa applicant/user agrees not to hold VFS Global responsible for other users' actions or inactions, including acts or things as a result of which there may be loss of connectivity, loss of dates and/or loss of data furnished.
Further, while secure and continuous access to the service is sought to be provided, VFS Global does not guarantee continuous or secure access to its services and operation of the Site, as the same may be interfered by numerous factors outside the control of VFS Global. Accordingly, to the extent legally permitted, VFS Global excludes all implied warranties, terms and conditions. VFS Global is not liable for any loss of money, time, goodwill, or reputation, or any direct, special, indirect, or consequential loss or damages arising out of the visa applicant/user’s use of its website.
The visa applicant/user agrees to indemnify and hold VFS Global, its officers, directors, agents, subsidiaries, joint venture partners and employees, harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorney’s fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of the breach of this Agreement, or violation by the user of any law of any country or the rights of a third party
Purpose of collection, use, disclosure etc. of Personal Information
Applicants may be required to provide certain information pertaining to them such as name, photograph, address, date of birth, telephone number, passport information, birth certificate, income, citizenship status, marital status, employment details, criminal and educational background information etc. This information is collected as per the requirement mandated by the concerned Diplomatic Missions / Governments and/ or relevant Visa Offices.
Such personal information may be collected, used or disclosed in order to facilitate the processing of visa application(s) and/or request(s) including but not limited to for the following purposes:
Provision of personal information is voluntary. Please note, however, that a refusal to provide personal information may limit or affect ability of VFS GLOBAL to provide the requested services.
As mandated by the Diplomatic Mission/s, VFS GLOBAL may (by itself of through third party service providers/ vendors) provide various facilities for inquiries related visa application process in general and/ or status of visa applications submitted through VFS GLOBAL such as call center, online tracking, e-mail etc.
Users making inquiries as regards visa application process in general, need not provide any personal information.
Users making inquiries as regards status of visa application submitted through VFS GLOBAL can quote application reference number to receive an update on the status of their visa, permit or travel document applications.
The users may be requested to provide personal information such as given name or family name or date of birth or phone number or street address or email address or application date etc. or combination of such information for verification/ authentication purposes.
For the quality control purposes the interaction/s with user/s may be recorded. In such cases the user/s will be informed of this practice and purpose at the start of any such interaction. Unless a different requirement is mandated by the respective Diplomatic Mission/s, such recordings will be purged after a period of 30 days from the date of such interaction/s.
Certain Diplomatic Missions may require the Applicant’s to attend for personal interview. Applicants will be required to provide their application reference number and/or certain personal information such as family name, given name, date of birth, phone number, street address, email address, application date, and passport number for purpose of scheduling interviews.
All such information, posted, furnished and submitted by the Applicants while scheduling an interview appointment is converted into such formats as may be required and communicated to the respective Diplomatic Mission having jurisdiction to receive such application/s.
Certain data and information related to visa applications received by VFS GLOBAL is presently stored/ hosted at data centre/s in UK (London) and India (Mumbai). The data captured by VFS Global in its systems for processing of visa applications of applicants from European Union is stored within the European Union (EU) boundary. The data of applicants other than that from EU may be stored in VFS Global systems either within the EU boundary at data center in UK (London) or at data center in India (Mumbai).
This information may be used, disclosed by VFS GLOBAL for performing its various obligations towards respective Diplomatic Missions and will be purged within 30 (thirty) days from the date of receipt by VFS GLOBAL. However no information/ data containing Personal Information of the Applicant/s is stored at the data centre/s mentioned above.
Disclosures of Personal Information:
VFS GLOBAL will not trade, rent or sell personal information of the Applicants. VFS GLOBAL does disclose or otherwise transfer Personal Information of the Applicants, except as otherwise set out herein. Personal Information will be used only for the purposes of providing services and performing its various obligations.
However VFS GLOBAL may need to disclose and share Personal Information when it is necessary to comply with a court order, any on-going judicial proceeding, or other legal, statutory or regulatory process served on VFS GLOBAL or to exercise the legal rights or defend against legal claims, criminal investigations, judicial matters or in prevention, investigation, detection, prosecution of criminal activities or matters related to national security.
Service Provider Arrangements: VFS GLOBAL may disclose (or otherwise make available) personal information to third party service providers providing services like courier delivery, SMS, call center services. These third party service providers are provided with such information they need to perform their designated functions and are not authorized to use or disclose personal information for their own purposes. For example, where the visa applicant has opted for courier service, VFS GLOBAL will disclose certain Personal data such as name, address, phone number to the third party courier service providers. However personal information will not be shared with service provider/s for SMS service/s. Such third party service providers are also required to adhere to security & privacy requirements as outlined by VFS GLOBAL.
VFS GLOBAL has implemented measures designed to help protect personal information in its custody and control. VFS GLOBAL maintains reasonable administrative, technical, physical and organizational safeguards in an effort to protect personal information in its custody and control. However VFS GLOBAL shall not be liable for unlawful access, use, modification, destruction, destruction or interceptions by unauthorized persons.
Retention & Destruction of Personal Information:
Application packages collected from Applicants will not be copied or retained by VFS GLOBAL. Unless otherwise mandated by the concerned Diplomatic Mission, any other paper, hard copies, forms or other records containing personal information will be destroyed by a secure shredding process within thirty (30) days of a passport’s return to an applicant.
For the purposes of assisting the Applicants should they contact VFS GLOBAL with follow-up queries, Applicant personal information may be retained in electronic form, after passport and/or documents have been returned to the Applicants, for a maximum of thirty (30) days or for such period as specified by the respective Governments/ Diplomatic Missions.
VFS GLOBAL performs secure disposal or destruction of personal information on the equipment or devices used for storing personal information. When disposing of equipment or devices used for storing personal information (such as filing cabinets, computers, diskettes, and audio tapes), VFS GLOBAL takes appropriate measures such as to removal or deletion of any stored information to prevent access by unauthorized parties.
VFS GLOBAL and its third party service providers/ vendors may provide personal information in response to a search warrant or other legally valid inquiry pursuant to contravention of law / order or to an investigative body or as otherwise required or permitted by applicable law VFS GLOBAL may also disclose personal information where necessary for the establishment, exercise or a defense of legal claims, or as otherwise permitted by law.

These links to websites are in nature of paid advertising are not verified by VFS GLOBAL. Users are requested to use their own discretion which dealing with these websites and neither VFS GLOBAL nor its officers, employees, agents shall have any responsibility or liability of any nature whatsoever for these other third party websites or any information contained in them.
To Personal Information
Applicant/s have right to their personal information provided by them. Users may request access to their personal information by writing an email to the Info email ID mentioned on the “Contact Us” page with subject line as “Subject Access Request”. This request will be forwarded to the respective Governments/ Diplomatic Missions since they are the data controllers and further action will be taken by VFS GLOBAL based on the directions received by the respective Governments/ Diplomatic Missions.
VFS GLOBAL shall not be responsible to ascertain authenticity or accuracy of the information provided by the Applicant. It shall be the duty of the Applicant to ensure that the information provided to VFS GLOBAL is accurate, complete and upto date.
Rescheduling an appointment:
The Applicant/s are allowed to reschedule their appointment twice and up to 2 working days prior to the scheduled date.
Further change in date will be considered as a fresh appointment and a new service charge will be applicable.
Cancelling an appointment:
If the Visa Applicant wishes to cancel the appointment, the service charges will not be refunded. Appointments can be cancelled only 2 working days prior to the scheduled date.
In order to make a new appointment, a new service charge payment will be applicable.

We know that criminals have posed as VFS Global representatives in order to steal personal information or money from people. If you receive a job offer by email or phone which requires payment, or promises a work visa in exchange for money, this is a scam. VFS Global is not a recruitment agency and does not offer recruitment services.
VFS Global is a visa processing company and we work only with government and diplomatic missions.
If you receive an offer asking for money that claims to be from VFS Global, do not respond or send money.
