After Submission

If you have already submitted your application, you can track it online using our tracking service. Track the status of your application here

Please note that if necessary, the Embassy may request additional documents relating to your application, and also invite you to VFS Global for an interview.

The processing time is specified under each visa type. Kindly note, the mentioned period is excluding the day of submission at Norway Visa Application Centre, and transport to and fro from Ankara if you have applied in Belgrade.

If you have handed in an application for a residence permit and would like more information about what is happening with your application and when you will receive an answer, please visit the website of the Norwegian Directorate for Immigration. Please be aware that in family immigration cases most customers will be summoned for an interview at the Embassy after the application has been submitted.

When a decision has been made, it will be possible to pick up the passport with a visa at the Visa Application Centre. If you have made use of the courier service, the passport will be sent to your address. If you want to authorize someone else to pick up your passport from the Visa Application Centre or from courier you need to provide the power of attorney official consent letter to him/her.

Once you have received your passport, please check the following data on your visa:

  • Visa validity dates;
  • Number of days you can stay on a C-visa;
  • Name and surname spelling;
  • Passport number and series;
  • Embassy’s stamp

Important: If you find an error or some of the details above described are not in place, please approach the pass back counter at the Visa Application Centre. In case of visa refusal, the passport will be properly stamped and refusal letter with explanation of the reason will be enclosed.

When you are travelling to Norway on a visitor’s visa (short-term visa type C), you need to bring the following documents:

  • Passport
  • Copy of the guarantee declaration or proof of sufficient funds to cover the stay in Norway
  • Copy of the invitation letter (when required for the application)
  • Travel medical insurance
  • Valid return ticket (especially when the purpose is tourism or private visits. However, we recommend all travelers to bring a print out of the ticket.)

For journeys undertaken for other purposes than visiting family or friends, please click here for information on additional supporting documents to verify the fulfillment of entry conditions.

If your application is rejected, you may appeal against the decision. Please read detailed information on how to initiate the appeal procedure in visa cases on the website of the Norwegian Embassy in Ankara. If you want to appeal against a decision in a residence case, please visit the website of the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration.
