    Norway Visa Application Centre in Belgrade re-opens for resident permits by prior appointment only

    Effective 1st July 2020, customers can submit residence permit applications at the Norway Visa Application Centre in Serbia/ Belgrade, Omladinskih Brigada 88, by prior appointment only. Please note that we will not be processing any applications for c-visas.

    Your safety is our priority. As part of precautionary measures, customers visiting our Application Centres are advised to wear face mask and gloves.

    Customers exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, including cough and difficulty breathing will be allowed to reschedule their application submission for another day and will be advised to seek medical attention.

    Please also note that

    1. Limited number of customers will be allowed inside the Application Centre at any one time. A pre booked appointment is required.
    2. Please maintain the distance of 2m from others

    20 March 2020: Temporary closure of VFS’ Visa Application Centers for Norway

    Due to the extensive restrictions on entry into Norway, it will no longer be possible to submit applications for Schengen visas or residence permits to Norway at VFS’ visa application centers. This measure is temporary. Any changes will be published on the Embassy’s website.

    Important: Because of the current situation the Embassy will temporarily not be able to return passports to applicants that already have submitted applications.

    Restrictions on entry into Norway

    The Norwegian Government has implemented extensive restrictions on entry into Norway due to the spread of COVID-19. As a result, foreigners who do not hold a valid residence permit in Norway will be rejected at the border and refused entry into Norway. For the time being, visas for visitors to Norway will not be granted.

    Due to the extensive restrictions on entry into Norway, it will no longer be possible to submit applications for Schengen visas to Norway at any of VFS’ visa application centers. The application centers will still be open for submissions of applications for residence permits to Norway.

    COVID-19-virus

    Quarantine restriction on travel to Norway

    Norwegian Directorate of Health implements the following from 18:00 hrs on Thursday 12 March 2020 until Thursday 26 March 2020

    In order to stop the spread of COVID-19 and to contribute to the maintenance of necessary health and care services, the Norwegian Directorate of Health has, according to the Infection Control Act, issued this decision:

    Everyone who comes from outside the Nordic countries will be refused entry to Norway and returned to their home country or should be in quarantine for 14 days from their arrival in Norway, regardless of whether they have symptoms or not. Retroactive from 27 February 2020

    Additionally, the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration has issued an instruction that visa applications from persons coming from areas with extensive spread of the covid-19 must be rejected. This includes China (Hubei-province) and Iran.     Increased fees for visa applications

    New visa rules from 02 February 2020: Please take note of the following changes in the Visa Regulation (Visa Code) which will enter into force 2nd February 2020:

    Increased fees: The visa fees will be increased from EUR 60 to EUR 80. For children between 6 and 12 years old, the visa fee will be increased from EUR 35 to EUR 40.

    Flexible submission: As of 02 February 2020 travelers will be able to submit their visa applications up to 6 months ahead of the scheduled departure date. Seafarers can apply up to 9 months in advance. As a rule, applications shall be lodged no later than 15 calendar days before the start of the intended visit to the Schengen area. Please note that these 15 days are counted from the day the Norwegian Embassy in Ankara receives your application and passport, so you must add to this the days it takes to transport your application back and forth between VFS and the Embassy in Ankara.

    Processing time: Visa applications shall be decided on within 15 calendar days after the embassy or consulate has received the application. The decision period may be extended to 45 days when further consideration is needed.

    Announcement of Opening

    The Embassy of Norway in Turkey is pleased to announce the opening of the Visa Application Centre in Serbia on 16 September 2019.

    Visa-and residence-applications to Norway from Serbia is handled by the Norwegian Embassy in Ankara, Turkey. The waiting time for visa applications to Norway from Serbia is 25 days (10 days sending passport and supporting documents back and forth to Ankara and 15 days case processing-time at the Embassy). If you apply for a residence permit to Norway from Serbia, please note that VFS Belgrade must send your passport with the application to the Norwegian Embassy in Ankara for document control. This means that it will take 7-8 days before your passport is back with VFS Belgrade.
