Applications for residence permits must as a general rule must be submitted by the applicant in person. If you reside in Tanzania but are a citizen of another country, you must have had a work or residence permit in Tanzania for the past six months before you submit the application.

All applications for residence permits will be forwarded by the Embassy in Dar Es Salaam to the Directorate of Immigration (UDI) in Norway for consideration. The applicant has to stay outside the Schengen area until the permit has been granted by UDI.

Step 4 :

Online registration using the Application Portal requires payment of the application fee online using a credit/debit card (Mastercard or Visa). It is also possible for the sponsor in Norway to complete all, or part of the online process for the applicant (e.g. log on and pay the application fee).

Applicants who have not registered their applications online prior to showing up at the Norway Visa Application Centre, may register their applications online at the Application Centre using designated kiosks. Please make sure that you bring a credit/debit card with you to ensure that the Application fee may be paid online using the Application Portal.
