Restrictions on entry into Norway
The Norwegian Government has implemented extensive restrictions on entry into Norway due to the spread of COVID-19. In order to minimize the spread of the Covid-19 virus, the Norwegian Government has decided that visa applications, as a general rule, shall be refused until further notice.

Reduced Opening Hours at the VFS’ Visa Application Centre for Norway
The Application Centre is open for the submission of visa and residence permit applications on Mondays and Wednesdays from 08:00 to 13:00 hrs. until further notice. For any enquiries, please write to us on email@example.com or call us on +255 222 126 355.
Please note that the processing time for a Schengen visa to Norway is up 15 days from the date the application is received at the Embassy. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic please a take note that you should allow for an additional 10-15 days for the transportation of your documents between the visa application center and Embassy in Kenya. It is highly recommended that you apply well in advance, at least 4 weeks prior to your planned trip.

The Norway Visa Application Centre will resume operations on 22 June 2020.
The Centre will however only accept Residence applications and re-submissions to obtain D-visa (entry visa to Norway) and this shall be via appointment. The office shall be open only on Mondays and Wednesdays from 08:00 hrs to 13:00 hrs until further notice.

We wish to inform you that from Friday 20 December 2019 to Wednesday 01 January 2020 has been declared a Public Holiday to mark preparations for Christmas and New Year and therefore the Norway Visa Application Center will be closed.
The Center will resume normal operations on Thursday 02 January 2020

Are you applying for a Schengen visa or a residence permit to Norway? From 01 August 2019 applications will be sent to Nairobi.
New regional hub system for immigration cases:
As of the 01 August 2019, the Norwegian Embassy in Dar es Salaam will no longer receive applications for visitor’s visa or residence permit to Norway submitted at the VFS Norway Visa Application Center in Dar es Salaam. Instead, your application will be sent to the Norwegian Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya.
What is new?
Although your application will be sent to another embassy, you will still be able to submit the application and collect your passport and decision documents from the VFS application center located in Dar es Salaam. Whereas the application procedures remain the same, please be informed that a courier fee of 92,500 TZS will be introduced as of 01 August 2019 to cover transportation of your application documents between VFS Dar es Salaam and Nairobi, Kenya.
