NY Travel Requirements

Please be advised:

If you are traveling to New York you are required to have proof of a negative Covid-19 test taken within 72 hrs of your intended travel date to New York. On arrival you are required to quarantine for three days and on the fourth day take another test before conducting business. Failure to cooperate with the mandate issued by Governor Cuomo will result in your refusal at our office. Please note VFS Global will not be held liable for your inability to keep your appointment base on the required New York State mandate.

• According to the latest update of The Embassy of Portugal we will be accepting applications ONLY for the below visas types until further notice. Please make sure you fall under the below categories of visas before booking your appointment. You may also send your documents by mail within the below-listed requirements and JURISDICTIONS.

  • Temporary stay visa for transfer of workers purposes for state parties to the WTO, for provision of services or professional training – E2
  • Temporary visa for research – E4
  • Student visas E6 and D4
  • Independent work/startup visa – D2
  • Highly qualified activity or cultural purposes, as well as, highly qualified subordinate activity –D3
  • Family reunification – D6
  • National Visa-D7
  • As per 14 July 2020 Consulates in Washington D.C and New York City confirmed they are accepting Schengen visas applications for family members of EU citizens (parents, spouses and children under the age of 21).

• Jurisdiction Restrictions- Be advised that each VFS location follows the jurisdiction restrictions; ensure you book appointment accordingly.
