VFS service fee of US$45.08 (inclusive of VAT) is charged per visa application, in addition to the applicable visa fee.

Please Note:

  • Short Stay Schengen Visa- For children between 6 -12 years old and Nationals of countries with a visa facilitation agreement with the European Union (Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cape Verde, Georgia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Russian Federation, Serbia and Ukraine) the Schengen visa fee amounts as shown in the above table.
  • The applicable visa fee, in USD ($), is as per the current exchange rate and is subject to change without notice.
  • Additional services are separate from VFS Service fee and Visa application fee. Please click here for list of services and fee applicable.
  • The following category of applicants are exempted from the Short Stay Schengen Visa fee:
  1. Short Stay Schengen Visa ONLY- Children under six years;
  2. School pupils, students, postgraduate students and accompanying teachers who undertake stays for the purpose of study or educational training;
  3. Researchers from third countries travelling for the purpose of carrying out scientific research;
  4. Representatives of non-profit organizations aged 25 years or less participating in seminars, conferences, sports, cultural or educational events organized by non-profit organizations;

  5. Family member of EU/EEA and Switzerland nationals.

    • The following categories are exempt from paying any Long Stay National Visa fee:
    1. Children under the age of 6;
    2. Descendants holding a residency permit, under family reunification clauses;
    3. Foreign nationals with a study scholarship granted by Portugal;
    4. Highly qualified research activity purposes (residency and temporary stay);

    5. Patients and accompanying persons traveling under Cooperation Agreements in the Field of Health with Portugal.

      All fees are non-refundable once paid.
