KNOW YOUR VISA TYPE
Before applying for your visa to Belgium, applicants should decide the visa subclass under which they wish to lodge their visa application.
Please make sure you familiarize yourself with the information on the visa subclass you are applying for.
The different categories that are catered to are –
- Tourism
- Business (professional reasons, traineeship or training, cultural, sporting, conference or other not religious event)
- Family Visit or Private Invitation
- For cohabitation with EU (Non-Belgian) citizen (although the purpose is to stay in Belgium after the cohabitation is signed, this visa is still a C-type short stay visa)
- For cohabitation with Belgian or Non-EU citizen (although the purpose is to stay in Belgium after the cohabitation is signed, this visa is still a C-type short stay visa)
- For marriage with EU (Non-Belgian) citizen (although the purpose is to stay in Belgium after the marriage, this visa is still a C-type short stay visa)
- For marriage with Belgian or Non-EU citizen (although the purpose is to stay in Belgium after the marriage, this visa is still a C-type short stay visa)
- Other Categories (medical, religious purpose,…..)
- For working (more than 90 days)
- Family Reunion with Belgian spouse
- Family reunion with NON-EU Spouse
- Family reunion with Belgian child
- Family reunion for children with one Belgian parent
- Family reunion for children with NON-EU parent living in Belgium
- Au pair
- For Studying (more than 90 days)
- Return Visa
- Other Categories (humanitarian, religious purpose,…..)
Once you know the visa type you need to apply for, please read all relevant information to that category which includes its Visa Fees, VFS Service Charges, Documents Required, Photo Specifications and Processing Time along with the Visa Application Form within that category.
Applicants should read all instructions carefully and then fill in the Visa Application Form.
Once all requirements corresponding to the visa subclass under which they wish to lodge their application are fulfilled, you are ready to apply for your visa to Belgium.
