    Mandatory Courier return of passports for Denmark visa customers

    In light of the COVID-19 alert and keeping in mind the health and safety of our customers and employees, the courier service for return of passports to Ireland visa customers has been made mandatory.

    Customers no longer need to visit the Visa Application Centre to pick up their passport once it is ready for collection the passport will be couriered to their location of choice (serviceable by our courier partner, Aramex).

    The courier service has been made mandatory for a temporary period to limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus and reduce the footfall at the Visa Application Centre.

    We will post an update on this page when the courier service is made optional again. We apologies for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

    VFS Global is now open for visa applications from applicants who have a worthy purpose of travel as listed on the website of the Danish police and travel dates before 31 August 2020. Applicants with worthy purposes and travelers to Iceland can submit applications but must contact The Danish Consulate before they apply.

    Visa Applicants must meet the normal Schengen requirements.

    Due to the current entry restrictions to Denmark, all Danish visa application centers are closed. Applicants who have handed in their visa application prior to 20 March 2020 will have their case processed. For more information visit the website of the relevant Danish mission.

    Increased fees for visa applications

    Please note: As of 02 February 2020 the Schengen visa fee per person (Short Stay Visa) will increase from 60 to 80 euros or the equivalent amount in your local currency. For children between 6-12 years old the visa fee will increase to 40 euros or equivalent

    In accordance with the new Visa Code article 10(1) an applicant does not need to appear in person when lodging an application if fingerprints were collected from the applicant within the last 59 months.

    Important Notice: From 01 July 2019, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark including all Danish diplomatic missions are introducing online payment of the embassy fee for Residence or Work permit. The embassy fee should be paid online using the following link Online Payment.

    Guidelines: The receipt for the payment should be submitted at the Danish Visa Application Centre (VFS) when you hand in your passport, relevant documentation and supply biometrics. Please note that in Residence or Work permit cases there are three fees to be paid.

    1. The fee to either The Danish Immigration Service or The Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI),
    2. The fee to the Danish embassy through online payment and
    3. The fee to the Danish Visa Application Centre, VFS Global.

After you have applied and paid the visa fee online, you must print the cover letter from ApplyVisa and hand in supporting documents and supply biometrics at the Visa Application Centre
