Disclaimer and Privacy Policy

The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Washington D.C. is collaborating with the company VFS in the area of service providing for visa processing in Jamaica. At the moment the company called VFS has appointed the company DHL as its partner which offers the mentioned services.

VFS offers logistical visa services for applicants who wish to visit the Kingdom of the Netherlands and their overseas territories bears the exclusive responsibility of the following:

  • Obtaining the passport of the applicants, filled out visa application, corresponding documentation (all the documents) and payment for the services.
  • Handing over the documents to the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Washington D.C in the name of the applicant.
  • Obtaining all the corresponding documents for the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Washington D.C after finishing all the procedures and return the said documents to the applicant.

Other conditions:

Independently from any other circumstances the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Washington D.C retains the right to demand any additional documentation as well as the right to deny the visa.

In certain circumstances, instead of the earlier cited procedure, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Washington D.C can expedite the corresponding documents directly to the applicant. In these cases the company VFS Global will not be responsible for any losses or damages to the documents.

It must be signaled that the expedition of the Dutch visas: Schengen or Schengen or its denial will be entirely at the discretion of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Washington D.C. It must be mentioned that the act of awarding the Dutch visa or denying it is at the sole discretion of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Washington D.C and that VFS Global or DHL does not participate in the visa process in any way whatsoever in receiving the visa or having it denied for any of the applicants.

VFS Global will take all the necessary preventive measures while handling the documents of the applicant. Of course DHL will not be responsible in any way towards the applicant if documents are lost in transit during the visa process due to an accident, theft or natural disasters or causes of force majeure or any cause outside of the control or against the will of the company DHL.

The applicant commits and accepts that VFS Global or DHL does not control or influence the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Washington D.C, nor does it control or operate the services offered by them. For that matter DHL will not be responsible any way or form for any loss or damage to the documents of the applicant due to any failure or breach in part of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Washington D.C.

The applicant understands and accepts that the courier service and return of the documents will occur through an independent company. VFS Global does not control nor operates any courier company, nor does it control the functions of any installation or service provided by the courier company.

VFS Global assumes all responsibility for losses to the applicant due to delay, loss or damages se by the courier company in the case these delays, losses or damages are produced due to negligence, accidents or any other cause.

In no case will VFS Global and / or its representatives be responsible for any direct, indirect, punitive, casual or special losses which will occur due to delay, loss or damages to the documents including the passport of the applicant.

Without prejudice of the responsibility mentioned, VFS Global and / or its unique and exclusive representatives, in the case a passport gets lost or is damages during transport is limited / restricted to either refunding the fees by way of proceeding with an ordinary normal application.

The mentioned refund of the fee amount will be done by VFS Global for the applicant only after presenting the check for expedited payment by the Department of Immigration of the Ministry of Interior of Jamaica. The applicant is in agreement with the mentioned responsibility as such as the said responsibility is the risk both parties assume voluntarily as such said responsibility is the integral part of this current limitation of responsibility.

The payment for services received by VFS Global from the applicant will not be refunded under any circumstance, whether the desired visa is granted by the Netherland Embassy or not, the commercial material may be accompanied with the pertinent documents during its return to the applicant.

If the applicant does not wish to receive such commercial material published together with the corresponding documents he has to warn in advance the company VFS Global at the time of presentation of the documents. Keeping in mind the commercial material which accompanies the documents does not count with the guarantee of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Washington D.C.

VFS Global at its discretion can change, correct, cancel and void any or all of the conditions mentioned within this document at any time without prior notice. No employee at VFS Global has any authority to change/modify/expand or cancels any or all of the terms and conditions mentioned within this document without prior written consent from VFS Global.

Whichever claim or controversy which may come up through the relationship from the services supplied by VFS Global to the applicant will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the tribunals of the Haiti.

The applicant accepts and confirms that he or his representative, before handing in the visa application, has read, understood and is aware of being subject to, without limitation and restriction, to all the terms, conditions and procedures foreseen within this document.

Beware of fraudulent job offers

Fraudulent Recruitment / Employment Offers

It has come to VFS Global’s attention that, individuals misrepresenting themselves as VFS Global’ agents or representatives have approached people to offer fraudulent/fictitious employment opportunities, with the intent to steal personal information or solicit money from people. We encourage you to exercise caution and common sense when receiving any such employment offer, which requires payment of any fees/money, or promises a work visa in exchange for money. The said offers are completely fake and not valid. VFS Global is not a Recruitment agency and does not offer recruitment services. Scammers operate primarily via the internet, email, phone etc. We warn people to beware of such scams.

Please be advised that, VFS Global is a visa processing company and we work only with government and diplomatic missions to fulfil their administrative requirements of visa application processing. Neither VFS Global nor its representatives will ask for money from individuals under any circumstances to lure them with employment opportunities either in VFS Global or outside. If you receive any offer that purports to be from VFS Global, which ask for money, these types of offers are fraudulent.

Warning signs of recruitment fraud

The following are some examples of recruitment fraud which are in violation of VFS Global’s processes and ethical practices:

  • The email is not sent from an official VFS Global e-mail address but from a free e-mail service such as: Hotmail, Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc. It is also possible that, the email is sent from a fake email address.
  • You are asked to disclose private or confidential information.
  • You are asked to be interviewed over the phone or via an instant-messenger type program.
  • You are requested to pay fees/money.
  • You are requested to complete bogus recruitment documentations such as an application or employment visa forms, (the VFS Global name and logo could be forged/fabricated and featured on the documentation without authority).
  • Insistence on urgency.
  • Money will be requested for processing Work Permits, Visa applications or the like.

Such actions are presumably intended to defraud or obtain personal information from the victims.

The activities of these individuals involve criminal and civil liabilities. While VFS Global takes such matter seriously and reserves its right to contact competent law enforcement agencies to investigate and prosecute such illegal activities, it is often difficult to locate and prosecute these individuals.

Therefore, if you receive a request, either in writing or verbally, for an interview or a job offer that you believe is or might be fraudulent or suspicious, please disregard them. You may also verify the same with VFS Global at communications@vfsglobal.com

If you come to know that a fraud is being perpetrated, we encourage to forthwith contact your local police and/or any competent authorities and also to keep us informed by reporting the fraud at acco@vfsglobal.com

Under no circumstances will VFS Global be liable or responsible for any loss, damages, expenses or inconvenience resulting from these unauthorized persons and/or activities.
