The obligation for mandatory quarantine has been extended for all those who enter Malta, irrespective of the country from which they arrive. This means that, with effect from today, all those who arrive in Malta from abroad will be subject to a 14-day mandatory quarantine period. Those who are caught breaking quarantine will be fined €1000 each time they are not found at home. Foreigners working in Malta who break mandatory quarantine, apart from the €1000 fine will have their working license revoked, and will be deported. All passengers who are going to Gozo aboard the Gozo Channel ships will also start being screened. No standing people aboard buses will be permitted. The maximum number of passengers will thus be limited to those who can be seated. A number of online services from health centres will be launched to limit the number of people who visit such centres.
